"GOOD TIMES NICE HOTEL"

Good times at the chillin bar with bar tender John .He took care of us veterans during the VFW Southern Conference. He remembered my drink and my name. Emily was awesome too. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. This is the only hotel I've been to where I did not hear other guests and could sleep in quietly. The tropical drinks they serve and the Mahi Mahi fish sandwich at the Land Shark was awesome and fresh . The meal that was made for our conference lunch and dinner was 5 star . Thank you I live 3 hours away and I will be back soon The price was very reasonable too

"Needs a major overhaul. Not worth the premium price."

It pains me to write this review as I so wanted this to be a great experience. Sadly, it was not. For the premium price you will pay you would expect a high-end experience, but unfortunately the cottages are in need of repairs and the amenities are unimpressive and problematic. Check in was easy and fairly normal at the front desk. No mobile keys unfortunately. When we got to the cottage, the first thing we noticed was that our “assigned parking space” was a handicapped spot. We are not handicapped. As there were already police cars cruising the parking lots I opted not to tempt fate and parked in the spot next to it. Fortunately we never got a ticket or bill from the parking company. The porch and door to the cottage were covered in mosquitoes and some form of stains. Inside was roomy, but we soon started to notice minor issues. The frame around the mirror was broken and rotting away. Hot water only worked in 1 of the 3 sinks, and the cold handle was completely broken in one of the sinks. The ceilings had water stains around the light fixtures, and the same mosquitoes from outside were all over the inside too. As others mentioned, the furniture has stains, the coffee table is bubbling, and the floor is warped. Not exactly what I was expecting for over $600 a night. Additionally, while there is a kitchenette there are no utensils or plates. I expected to at least have some necessities. They do give you an ice bucket but over the 3 days we were there we never found an ice machine. The ”Dog Friendly Room Package” is a rip off. Don’t go for it. They say “Upon arrival your pup will be treated to their own puppy package including a fun Margaritaville branded custom toy!” There is no toy and the package consists of nothing else. I at least expected maybe a water bowl in the room or a pet towel for muddy feet. When we asked about the toy we were told they had been out for months. When asked about the difference in rate if we didn’t get any part of the package, we were told we could go ask for a pup cup from Starbucks and “charge it to the room”. For those of you who don’t know, Pup Cups are normally free. Ultimately I got a $10 one time credit, even though I showed the staff that they charged me the pet deposit in addition to the pet package AND that the rate was $200 more per night for the pet package over the normal rate. Complete scam. Placement of the cottages is also problematic. There is no sidewalk to connect you to any of the amenities, and no cross walks across the main thoroughfare. At night, that drive gets a little dark. To get to any of the amenities from the cottages be prepared for a hike. And if you will be making that hike after dark take a flashlight. They do have a pretty decent app based room service option where you can order from the Landshark Grill or the Joe Merchant coffee shop and have it delivered to your room. For Joe Merchant, I would skip ordering food. Our coffee was good, but of the 4 sandwiches we ordered only 1 was right. The 2 sausage egg and cheese sandwiches came with no sausage, and the bacon egg and cheese came with no bacon! Landshark’s food was pretty good. You will get a text about going to a breakfast/brunch buffet in the convention center. I highly recommend you skip that. 1st off, it’s $30 per adult and they play fast and loose with their definition of adult. Low quality bloody marys and mimosas are $9 each. The food is so/so, but the staff is terrible. We waited to be seated, had an employee toss a bowl of butter on our table because there wasn’t any on the serving areas, I had to go flag down a manager to pay, and then they want to ask for a tip (everything is self serve) on top of the 18% they charge you by default. The arcade is a total let down and should be skipped. Half the games are non operational or just straight up take your credits, and the temp is about a steady 80 degrees. The resort should fix the AC and fire the third party company that is supplying their machines. Lastly, the pool facilities are super run down. We booked a family cabana for one day of our trip. The cabana was only partially usable because the sectional couch was covered in mosquitos and bird poop. There was also a big stretch of smelly slippery green algae all through the same side of the cabana. You would think they could hose them off each night or before they rent them out. The lazy river is lackluster. The tiles need a good cleaning and none of the water features were functioning while we were there. It was literally just float around a circle. The waterslides were problematic in their own right. As you go down them, you can feel the bumps from each section where it’s bolted together. I don’t know if this is due to sagging or being loose, but the last time I went down the tallest one I ended up slamming my arm and head into something hard halfway down and we had to pack up and leave because it had knocked me loopy. I highly recommend caution before going down the biggest slide. As a side note, the “perks” they get you to sign up aren’t usable. I signed up for 2 perks and never once was given an option to use them throughout our stay. All in all, we will definitely not be back to this Margaritaville and probably will avoid others in the future if this is the standard they hold their resorts to.

"Top-notch service."

We met bartenders, John and Emily, working the second floor hotel bar and restaurant. They were so friendly and service was top-notch. They gave us great suggestions on foods we could try and they were spot on. We were so happy with service and food was delicious. They really made the experience so much more personal and better overall!

"Outstanding service"

John and Emily in the hotel bar were absolutely amazing. The food was also equally as good. We had the wagyu meatballs and egg rolls. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

"Great family experience"

We ate at the restaurant, and our server was Camila, “Cami” she was amazing. Her recommendations were perfect. The food was delicious, and she was all around a slam dunk! We can’t wait to come back to the resort, and if we eat at the restaurant, we will certainly request her😀
