Americas Best Value Inn Opelika

I called one day prior to arrival to change my reservation and was assured it had been taken care of. Had I not paid attention during check-in, I would have been charged for the extra night. Then I get to the room, there are roaches...EVERYWHERE including in the bed and you can tell the staff does not focus on cleaning baseboards, the floor, lampshades, lamp bases, or outlet covers. Didn't leave extra rolls of toilet tissue and even the ironing board was dirty. Between the roaches and the dirt, the room was disgusting. Did I complain, no because they have to know that the condition of the room is the way it is and they obviously don't care. I was desperate to find a reasonably priced room on a very busy weekend and was left with no choice but to remain. I got what I paid for and now know why the room was probably so cheap. Overall, horrible experience and would recommend not booking for the roaches alone. Killed everyone I saw and left them on the floor for evidence. At least they cleaned them up. Gives new meaning to the term "roach motel".

There where holes in the walls in my room. There was a roach that wanted to play peek-a-boo the first night I was there. I had to book another hotel and paid double to have a peaceful sleep.

The breakfast was a joke & the coffee was watered down. The lady working the front desk at the time hovered around us while we were checking out the breakfast & was not friendly at all. This place was full of workers that were staying here. They weren’t particularly loud, just something worth noting. We were just passing through & stayed about 10 hours. Would not stay again

The constant smell of weed. The employees that cleaned rooms lived in a room. And constantly trying to sell everyone stolen goods. Shoes clothes cigarettes.
