Aghadoe Heights Hotel & Spa

I had the most fantastic visit to Aghadoe Heights last weekend with 3 friends. We go once a year . This was our 10th year and it certainly didn't disappoint. The setting and views are gorgeous. The hotel is so comfortable and relaxing and the staff are amazing-so professional, and so friendly. A special thanks to Maura who went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The food was gorgeous and service was 5 star! It is worth a visit for the breakfast alone. Looking forward to our next trip already.

Stayed at Aghadoe Heights Hotel & Spa recently. Overall, a good experience. The location is excellent and the surrounding views are genuinely impressive – probably the highlight of the stay. The hotel itself is in a very peaceful setting, and the room was spacious, clean, and quiet, which made it comfortable. The breakfast was decent, but the menu was the same every day, which became repetitive. Also, while the hotel has amazing views, the view from the room itself wasn’t particularly special. Overall, a solid stay mainly because of the location, atmosphere, and comfort, but there’s room for improvement in variety and room views.

I have stayed in most of the hotels in Killarney over the past three years and can safely say that my recent stay in Aghadoe has been one of the highlights. From first checking in it was a delight, the front desk staff and concierge all made booking in a pleasure, so friendly in a natural non-corporate way. The room was nearer to a suite with beautifully appointed views and amenities, spacious bathroom with a capacious bath and shower suite. The decor of the room and the entire hotel is understated and luxurious with a carefully curated and extemely interesting art collection. As a lifelong vegetarian, I am accustomed to making do, and whilst the vegetarian selection was not huge, the food was fresh, local and extremely tasty. I can say without hesistation that the vegetarian breakfast was the best I have had anywhere. There is a real effort to source local produce and it is reflected in the taste of all the food that I sampled. The bar staff were truly lovely, the Croatian lady who served me my manhattan was at pains to have it to my satisfaction making the second and third cocktails almost perfect! My only piece of advice, and it is a small matter, as everything was so lovely, was that the chcolates thoughtfully left in our room were Lily O'Brien's which is owned by a Polish food company, as Kerry has several world-class chocolate artisans working locally it would be nice to see one of them supported.

Arrived at aghadoe 2:30 sunday 15th for 3 nights off to a bumpy start and a lomg wait when we requested a light bite as we were looking forward to our fine dining experience in the evening along comes lez he is mortified hey presto solves our problem with food. To continue, everything excellant, beautiful views, lovely room, so clean, no stone left unturned and lez bending over backwards for the rest of our trip to see that we were happy. He is such a people person and so concerned about customer wellbeing. All staff so accomodating, well mannered, and pleasant, especially julio ayon and peter in the bar and dining area.
