The Spread Eagle Hotel

The room was idyllic, clean, and beautiful fixtures. The property was quant, located in a charming part of town. It's accessible to the center of town, but the rooms are set back so there is no noise. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good enough, nothing bad or outstanding, but we got enough food and coffee to start the day!

Wedding reception not warned that disco would be very loud and went onto 11.30 pm. Breakfast and staff were lovely property looking very tired from the outside room was fine smashing bathroom.

Well located, very clean and great food. Sadly, venue looked tired and not the old world charm or modern chic that appeared to be aiming for. Staff professional and courteous but hotel lacked style that it used to have some years ago

Generally good hotel. Great location, nice staff and good food/breakfast. However, our room was 'dated' and 'tired' and in dire need of redecoration. The bathroom plumbing & fixtures were also old/worn and needed replacement. The toilet cistern did not refill once it had been flushed so I had to use the bin bucket to refill it with water after use (the people in the room next door also had this problem). I understand from others in our party that they had some lovely rooms (that had been refurbished) so I guess we were the unlucky ones who were given old & inadequate rooms. We also attended a party at the hotel's suite which was lovely and the buffet provided was good. The hotel itself does not appear to have any guest toilets anywhere, e.g. near reception which is a bit unusual for the hotel's size. If I did stay here again I would check the room provided to me thoroughly before accepting it due to the problems we had.

Interresting building with large bedroom. Lovely location with a chocolatier nearby.

The hotel is very well located in the centre of Thame. It is an old building with lots of character but some of the corridors etc are looking a bit tired. But the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is always good. The staff and management are always pleasant. And they are all doing their best to work safely in this current period due to the COVID restrictions. I stay there whenever I am in Thame.

The Spread Eagle should be amazing but its very tired and could do with some TLC in all areas not just the decor. The lady on reception was lovely, we liked her alot! We need more of her, everywhere!

It was a lovely character hotel, however as you would expect with an old hotel the plumbing and facilities was rather dated. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was lovely!

Quite expensive for very minimalistic room. Bed was comfy. Lock on door didn’t feel the safest. Other than that. done the job a one nights stay but just a little pricey in my opinion.
