Almar Timi Ama Villasimius Resort & Spa

Guests can reach Timi Ama beach with a 5-minute walk or with the hotel’s free electric land train. It is very usefull. Superior Double Rooms with Garden View are very modern and comfortable. Great restaurant. I highly recommend it.

The hotel is nice, remote, and room comfortable. Staff were nice. I paid for the spa package but it was wasted money because no spa appointments were available. Do not purchase the package. We got half board but had to pay for water! The dinner and breakfast was meh, my husband got sick, one morning I got the ham for breakfast but couldn’t eat because it was sticky/slimy. Would not get the half board. There are a lot of restaurants in town a 20 minute nice walk from hotel. Beach is a 10 minute walk from hotel with a golf cart shuttle.

Camere pulite, bagni moderni e comodi, spiaggia e servizio top, colazione abbondante e di qualità, purtroppo non allo stesso modo i due ristoranti pizzeria e ginepri.

Costi delle cene troppo elevati in relazione ai prodotti serviti. Ristorante ginepri pessimo servizio.

Extremely helpful & friendly staff - couldn’t do enough to help, including the cleaners. We were upgraded to a suite that was superb. The private beach area was very good and the beach is beautiful - the beach hut staff were brilliant. Food quality is good but pricing is too high (see below)

The hotel has a 5 star tag but overall this isn’t justified as not all areas are top quality. The pool is a little dirty with sand on the bottom and not hoovered out - the pool shoreline paint is falling off badly which gives the pool a rather shoddy appearance. The hotel is slightly isolated with Villasimius an expensive 20/25 euro taxi ride for a 5-10 minute journey. This means you are somewhat captive in the resort and as such the food and drinks pricing is unjustifiably expensive. 15 euros for a gin & tonic or cocktail - not good. The buffet evening meal was an eye watering 70 euros per head exc. drinks, when a decent meal at their fine dining restaurant Ginepri was typically 60 euros per head with wine etc. 70 euros is terrible value and OTT. We had superb meals out for 50 euros per head but the taxi costs took the edge of that. The breakfasts were great overall with lots of choice but the scrambled eggs and beans/hash browns were always cold or lukewarm even when a new batch was tipped into the serving dishes. Just very sloppy. This is not a 5 star quality hotel - they just seem to miss the required performance in some key areas.

The hotel is about a five-minute drive from Villasimius, 65 minutes from Cagliari Airport, and around 75 minutes from Cagliari itself. After turning off the main road at a roundabout, you drive down a short dirt track with signage for reception. Guests enter through a gate and park in front of the hotel. Check-in was straightforward — we arrived at 12:30, waited about 10 minutes, and were then upgraded. ⸻ First Impressions & Design The hotel’s interior design is questionable — the lobby furniture is mismatched, and the colour choices feel jarring rather than stylish. The terrace above the dining area offers pleasant views of the pool, however. ⸻ Room We stayed in Room 1011, a ground-level room with a terrace facing the inner courtyard. This can be noisy when other guests are on phone calls, as sound echoes. • Design: cupboard doors decorated in bright abstract green patterns (Sardinian weave style), and an unusual green-and-white ethnic-style headboard. • Beds: one double and one single. • Amenities: one small bottle of water per day (insufficient, especially with a coffee machine), four Nespresso capsules, glasses, and wine glasses. Storage space was good. • Bathroom: spacious, with two sinks, large shower, bidet, toiletries, and a window for ventilation. • Terrace: table and two chairs (both scratched and aged), sandy floor that wasn’t regularly swept. ⸻ Spa & Facilities The spa was disappointing. • Pool: seawater at 34°C, but many hydro-pressure points did not wor
