Novotel Canberra

I liked the size of the rooms , the breakfast buffet was great . The location was excellent .

You can't reserve a parking spot on site so you just have to hope you get one , but it cost and extra $35 a night . And if you can't get a spot on site , you have to park in the over flow car park , 3 blocks away and a 10 minute walk to get to and from the hotel and also at a cost of $28 per night .

Location

Car park at the Novotel. On check in I did a 2 day parking stay. Then on 2 occasions couldn’t even park my car as it was full. To then be told on our second day that car parking is not always guaranteed it’s a first in situation. Pretty rough when paying $35 per night. After not being able to park overnight I asked the front reception so what do I do. He told me they have another parking section through secure parking, they gave me a code to enter which was 5 minutes away. To then realise I could have parked there all day for $17 per day. So don’t even pay at the hotel. The hotel is very outdated and the bar doesn’t open till 4pm

Very convenient location

The staff were quite rude, not communicating with each other and talking to guests with disdain. Before arriving you get a text advising how to check in. The text asks you to collect pool towels from reception. When we checked in we asked for the towels and were advised they were at the pool towels when we went to the pool there were none. We used the pool phone to call reception, they said they’d be 20mins away and to wait for them to arrive. I advised the staff we would not wait 20mins poolside without getting in. They told me to come to reception to get the towels. When I went to reception they didn’t have any towels and I had to wait there for 10mins to get towels delivered. When we finally got towels and went to the pool, the pool had a load of fresh towels already delivered there. The man delivering towels was very apologetic, kind and friendly. The reception staff were rude and condescending. The cleaning staff were all very pleasant throughout our stay.

Great location, proper shower, comfy bed.

It’s tired. Tiles need a good deep clean. The bathroom was so small that the basin was not in the bathroom. Very odd layout and not convenient at all (no bin next to toilet). Breakfast is good value but was mayhem. Could have been organised better - the line was insanely long to get a table.

Good location

Weird set up for bathroom with having no vanity, bin or mirror in actual bathroom and attempting to combine it with a kitchenette wasn't very functional.
