Park Inn by Radisson Cardiff City Centre

Good location

No air conditioning, only one working lift. Was told early check in was available, on arrival was then told it would be about 3 hours. Will not be staying there again

A memorable experience, for all the wrong reasons. Summary: Only one of the two elevators functioning, and even the second one failed one morning; no A/C in rooms; car park unavailable for last two days of stay; restaurant only serves breakfast, which was good; staff very accommodating except the one on reception at the time of the elevator failure. Arrived at the underground car park. One of the two elevators out of order (for more than three months, apparently). Second one arrived after seven minutes. With one of our party in a wheelchair a lift is essential. Check-in went well, very friendly staff, albeit that's when we learnt that there was no dinner restaurant. Lovely air-cooled lobby/atrium. Then it was all downhill. Got to the room and a wave of heat hit us. Knew right away that there was no A/C, especially after spotting a small portable fan. With temperatures in the high 20's to low 30's and a window which only opened a couple of inches, we weren't looking forward trying to sleep. I find it unbelievable that a Radisson hotel in a large city centre has no A/C. Due to street noise at night, mostly from bars and restaurants, had to keep the window shut although the noisy portable fan did compensate by providing plenty of noise. Next morning, second elevator was out of order, stranding my wheelchair-bound sister on the third floor. Upon speaking with the receptionist she just shrugged her shoulders and said, "Make a complaint". Fortunately, about 10 minutes later the manager and a team member arrived with an evacuation chair and expertly brought her to the ground floor. And there's more: upon returning to the hotel on day 3 the underground parking doors were closed. Somewhat annoying as we had paid close to £60 to park for three nights. Upon enquiring at reception we were told to park in the outside staff car park. I think most readers will guess what happened next: today a £100 parking penalty arrived by email, for illegally using the staff car park! So now that has to be reversed which I'm sure will take numerous emails and phone calls. Without doubt this hotel is a comedy show. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, for business and leisure, and this has been the worst. There's more but filthy room carpets and awful bar food are not worth mentioning!

A 2 night stay at the Park Inn. Staff helpful and friendly. Nice lobby area. Check in was quick-we had to reactivate the room card on the 2nd day as we had 2 separate bookings but we kept the same room. The room was really hot owing to the heatwave and no air-conditioning but fan was supplied and in the room. Bed was really comfortable. Decor was a bit tired but didn't affect our stay. Nice powerful shower - only bath towels provided -no hand towels but changed on request. Iron and ironing board in the room. Plenty of hanging space. Just a few minutes walk into the city centre and 30 mins walk to cardiff bay. Overall a very good stay.

Good location, but very hot and no aircon, hotel parking inaccessible (plenty available nearby though) and only one lift was working for our entire stay. No fridge in the room either which I would have expected.

Lifts broken so had to walk 5 floors, other than that everything was okay. Good Expedia price but expensive if you book direct

Bathroom had been poorly repaired, shower was not easy to get the right temperature
