Great location, ocean views, bathroom a bit dated

Property is a bit dated. Clean and basic. Good budget travel option. Only 1 bowl. Could use some updated blankets and linens. Overall great for the price and location.

Good location. Heated pool didnt work. Security deposit to exspensive. Had to pay for towels and carpark to low had to park on the street that cost a fortune. Apart from that the room was great and the property was exactly as the photos depict.

View was nice. Microwave dirty drawer broken chair table few on the other side of balcony no1 came to check was left like that whole time even I had reported it to reception broken kitchen draw had to deal with that. Drain blockage in bathroom yellow water was coming up floors wet towel kept turning yellow when covering drain. Remote stopped working. Throw ur own rubbish. Washing and drying all in basement. Hallways smelt very bad by lifts. The guy who responded to everything was nice but he only had so much he was allowed to handle did pass on the message to reception. It was ok but things need renovations in that room especially. If it’s windy u can’t sleep slide door rattles.

All I’m going to say is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION We stayed at Beachcomber as it’s close to everything and the parking for the car was excellent The bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean The building itself needs a facelift and the rooms need attending such as paintwork Our room had a new kitchen but our shower was yukky We had a washing machine and dryer so it was perfect and we also had a clothes horse so I could hang the clothes out in the fresh air Our balcony faced the beach and it was amazing as we spent New Year’s Eve here and the fireworks were great to watch from the 27th floor balcony The beach is a few steps away as well as all your dining There is no restaurant in the actual hotel but that’s ok as there was plenty very close by The staff are lovely Great security at night The lifts were quick The outdoor and indoor pool were good not excellent but good no sun in the pool area The Carpark is only $10 per day which is very little compared to most There is no cleaning of your room unless you request it and you will be charged but there is a vacuum cleaner mop etc I used the vacuum cleaner to get rid of the sand from the beach Other than that cannot fault it as it’s all about location

This place is a bit old and dated but was nice and clean and tidy although cigarette butt was left in the room from previous people. Spa was cold but the pool was nice. No soap or microwave bowls provided. When we arrived our rollerway bed was missing but they sorted this upon asking. Was also only two towels for three people which they also sorted. Great location for shops and restaurants. This place has no housekeeping, room service etc. it’s quite noisy from street noise so wouldn’t suit a light sleeper.

Dirty old stained furniture, curtains were faded and old. Lifts overloaded and slow. Unable to use luggage trolleys as they are under lock and key as we checked in on a public holiday. Only 1 room card issued for 2 adults staying. Does not match photos on website.

Water pressure is always good at this property.

No air conditioning, room run down, shower runs out of pressure and generally dirty room all round. Reported the air conditioner - response 'we will send a technician up to the room'. Even after they inspected and agreed that the air conditioner did not work (see photos), still not offered a new room with air conditioning. Asked at the desk after the technicians had been - response 'we haven't received their report', even asking a second time the next day. Pictures tell alot of the story, wardrobes have a sickening smell when you open them (they've been repainted white on the outside to make them look newer than they are). Bathroom tiles are either not complete, or they are putting a second layer of tiles on top of the original to hide them. Bathroom sink cannot come clean, as per the pictures was like this the whole time. The shower was useless, I only turned on the hot water in the end to even get a warm shower and the pressure fades after a minute to a dribble. Worst of all even before the stay I was harassed by email, sms and phone call to pay the full amount of the room charge for 6 nights upfront + a 3 hund deposit on top of that! Even though I bought this property as 'pay at property on the day' through hotels.com - yes this has been reported to them and this option should not be offered if you do not wish to abide by it. Conditions on leaving are that you put the garbage in the basement bins and wash up all the cutlery etc you use. This is why the room is grubby.
