Beachcomber Surfers Paradise

This property was located in a fabulous position close to Cavill Avenue and adjacent to Surfers Paradise beach. We had an excellent view of the beach from our 21st floor room. I booked through Wotif and sure I clicked on a one bedroom ocean view room. Confirmation came back that I had a renovated suite. I emailed Wotif on this and did not not receive a reply.? When checking in I was advised that they had a renovated suite on the 21st floor. It was hard to tell what part of the room had been renovated. The kitchen was old and tired and the smallest kitchen I had ever seen in a holiday unit. The bathroom certainly had not been renovated. The rubber backed black out curtains were also deteriorating and the lounge was small and uncomfortable. There was no plugs for the bath nor the bathroom handbasin. We asked for a plug for the bath but never received it. A plug was provided for the handbasin the following day. There was no outdoor table on the balcony to rest a drink on. Overall disappointed with the room as it did not represent value for money.

Centrally located accommodation at a reasonable price. Kitchen and bathroom while ok, could use a renovation. Overall, was ok for the price.

Found my stay all but relaxing; for the 3 nights I was there I was tormented with the loud noise from all the construction workers occurring outside. I was situated on the 6th floor, road facing and I left this Hotel looking anything but rested. Was disappointed that none of this is advertised and you are not made aware of this prior to check in; i did read a review about this but thought it was a one off, oh was i wrong. The hotel rooms are outdated in style and furniture but suffice for a short stay, especially if you arent to concerned with aesthetics. Also some seating furniture on the balcony which was nice to have breakfast and enjoy the sunrise; but i recommend walking down to the beach and soaking in the sun from their. Note: you need to dispose of all rubbish upon check out in the basement, there are no cleaners who do this for you. Also to advertise on Expedia that you have "Luggage storage" but then advise guests to store their bags behind the brochure wall is deceptive - i didn't feel comfortable doing this as there was no tagging system or monitoring system; guest were free to place and remove their bags at their convenience which opens the opportunity for theft, with no other option i trusted the system but would've liked this to be clearly advertised. Wifi was not that good but TV had options to connect to Youtube, Netflix etc.

centrally located, great view for air show!! Toilet paper lacked quality, tea / coffee supplies almost non-existent. Good restaurant, gym and pool.

This property is very dirty, I see cockroaches on the bed and lizards on the walls, I see the washroom sink doesn’t work properly and the shower is dancing all over and didn’t like to go for a bath. Wall Watch is just a show piece that doesn’t work and interior is not good or up to the mark. I can show you the images. In the kitchen everything is old and doesn’t work properly, I think the microwave is of my grandparents generation when asked for a room change they just denied, I have offered them an extra pay for the change but they didn’t change and I have to stay in that scary room for 4 days. When asked for refund from Expedia and Beachcomber they have got to remind me of rules and regulations. Which they didn’t remember when they are not giving the amenities mentioned in the website. There is no sunrise breakfast, don’t expect anything that is mentioned on the website it worst experience for me. I was starving in the morning and had to step out for food and pay for it where I thought it would be covered at the property expenditures. Cupboards need to be cleaned or replaced, I didn’t feel like using them at all, hairdryer is not in working condition and makes a different noise, iron box I didn’t feel like touching also it was so dirty with spiderwebs. Anyways thanks for giving me such a worst experience and a nightmare in my life. I won’t forget these 4 days in my life.
