Novotel Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

This hotel is fine, if you can find it

We spent a highly frustrating 1.5hrs trying to find the hotel as there were zero instructions provided via Booking.com and the hotel. The hotel is actually attached directly to the airport; however, you need quite detailed instructions as to how to access it as it requires a train and then a very poorly (non-existent) signposted walk to a particular floor on an empty building. Without detailed insttructions, there is no hope of finding it. Because on the Booking.com listing it notes 'Airport Shuttle' we spent a wasted hour on the roof of the airport in 37degree heat, after an international flight, waiting for a shuttle that never came. It was chaos. We only learned through another passenger that there are actually THREE Novotel hotels related to CDG, with zero information in the booking as to which one we were at. Even worse, we called the main hotel number THREE TIMES and it simply rang out. We finally gave up and tried to catch a taxi to the address in the Booking.com system, but the taxi driver couldn't find it (it was in a rabbit warren of hotels and small roads) and we ended up just getting out at the Hilton, thinking that we'd have to try to book there for the night. Only as we alighted from the taxi did we see a sign for the Novotel over in the distance and walked there. What added insult to injury was that the manager was defensive rather than apologetic. He actually told us that it was his responsibility to make sure that instructions were given and that we should have known to go to the original hotel listing in Booking.com (which only gave very simple informaiton that the hotel could be accessed through a particular train running from the hotel, with no further information at all about how to find it from there), rather than acknowledging that one would normally expect detailed instructions for access when booking through Booking.com.

Excellent location! We stayed here as an overnight between heading into the city and going to Disneyland, which worked relatively well.

Be careful of the train prices! We did a single day in Paris city centre, and it cost a family of 4 over €50 to get there via train. It was over €100 to get to Disneyland via train, some costs that we weren't expecting And might have planned differently had we known

Location, fast check in, helpfulness of reception and the lady who came to set up sofa bed

AC hardly works, room was not cool at all. Despite booking was for 4 people, room was not set up in advance. We arrived at 22:45, after check in informed reception and only afterwards they set up the sofa bed.
