Meadow Acres Inn

Staff welcomed me late w/ easy check in. Routine business trip as I enjoy the area and separate from most hotels in Topeka. Close to Denny's and Super Walmart. Easy to find from freeway and will stay here again.

Hotel staff was very nice, room was decent. All in all, it was great for what I needed . . . which was a one night stay with no extra frills.

Desk Clerk was very friendly and knowledgeable offering area dining suggestions and giving directions to area sites.

Front desk staff quite helpful. Good breakfast. Bathroom very small. Very limited indoor pool hours. Overall, suited our needs.

The hotel is probably what you would expect from Econolodge: nothing fancy, but certainly adequate, at a price much more reasonable than the fancy hotels. It is on a main road, easy to get to from the highway. The room was clean, if showing signs of wear, the staff friendly, and it was nice having a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. There is a local hamburger place, a nice Chinese buffet and an awesome Thai restaurant within a block or two, and it is a short drive, maybe 10 minutes--less if the traffic lights are with you--to the Kansas Expocenter. Otherwise the neighborhood seems a bit down at the heels--mostly thrift stores and such, but not bad. The hotel has an indoor pool, though I did not try it out.

Hotel staff was helpful as when we booked the room we asked for a roll-away bed and hotel.com did not pass that on to the hotel and the hotel staff upgraded us to a bigger room as they had no roll-aways left. I would stay here again when in the area just wont book with hotel.com

The room was reasonably clean except for the carpet which was actually quite wet near the bathroom and the smell of damp and mold in the room was quite significant. If we had been staying more than one night we'd have asked to move rooms. We were just too tired after we moved in. The people are friendly enough and the breakfast like everything else in the hotel was adequate but basic.

the bathrooms needed to be updated & could've been cleaner, but overall not bad.
