DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon Hotel

Room was excellent, the staff were amazing throughout, and the evening meal was beautiful which was a welcome surprise as normally food in the this sort of hotel aren't great but every course was tasty, well presented and actually a little bit different.

If I had to be really really picky the only negative comment I had would be for breakfast, which incidentally had a very wide choice of options, that the heat lamps didn't keep the food quite as hot as we would have preferred , especially the beans, however they did appear to be steaming, its just once on the plate they were luke warm, but I don't want to major on this because the quality of the product, eggs sausages & bacon were top notch clearly not from the normal cash and carry.

I stay at Hilton quite a bit for work and sometimes leisure. Having stayed in many Hilton properties in UK and Europe, this property is up there with the best of them. Stayed for two nights and was upgraded both nights due to Diamond membership. Most of the staff are happy and customer focused. There are one or two that really do need to learn to smile. But the majority, are great. Abbie, I believe is a manager, persuaded me to stay another night rather than use a competitor hotel brand nearer to where I was working. Which meant a 25 mile travel back to Hilton Swindon. Abbie was the consummate professional when it came to customer service. Helpful, funny and very organised. Abbie was probably the most enthusiastic manager I have seen in Hilton. As for the breakfast, very good. Great staff at breakfast as well. The only negative are the bar staff. I visited the bar twice in two nights and was served by Pascal. He has a polarising customer service to Abbie, and made it very clear that he was there to take your money. He never smiled once in the two nights he served me, nor did he smile when dealing with other customers. If Carlsberg made bar staff, Pascal would not have been on the running. He was Very mechanical, dis-Interested and looked as if he did not want to be there. Sad really. All in all, one of the better Doubletree properties. Well worth the visit.

Perfect location. Good sized rooms, perfectly clean. Comfortable bed. Great breakfast.

We arrived late, about 23 45, and couldn’t purchase an alcoholic drink to take to our room. We’ve stayed previously and were able to then. Wee bit disappointed. Some of the hall carpets could do with being shampooed. Reception staff were efficient, but were not overly friendly.

Convenient location , easy to find and had parking
