UNA Hotels Capotaormina

The highlights of the hotel are its pool and private beach, which are truly beautiful. I also think that their complimentary shuttle to Taormina is worth mentioning (every way up or down costs ~20,00...).

- Rooms are super outdated, and really lack some renovation. I must say, they were quite disappointing for the high price you pay. - Pool/beach snacks and small bites are quite mediocre and expensive. Their poke bowls are the most weird ones I've ever had, with a mix of ingredients that didn't make any sense. - Their main restaurant "Le Grand Bleu" is a trap...mediocre food and highly expensive for what they deliver.

Overall experience was good but be aware that there are two very difference types of rooms in this resort. You have the very updated ones and then the old rooms. I had the pleasure in experiencing both since I last minute had to add on the first night in the upgraded room then switched over to the older rooms. The updated room was small but STUNNING with a minibar included. Very clean and new with breathtaking views. The older room was fine when it came to furnishings but it was VERY spacious. Had a very large bathroom and a walk-in closet. My biggest complaint about the older room was the smell. Im assuming there is ZERO ventilation in the older rooms causing a very musty smell which the renovated room didnt. I let it slide because the room had a balcony overlooking the ocean and i could air it out a little bit. The lobby and interior common areas are not renovated but that didn't bother me. The gym had great equipment, service everywhere was friendly, the free shuttle was convenient (make sure to prebook every morning), the pool and beach area was stunning. I would stay there again and try to stay in the renovated rooms!

The staff were amazing and fully updated hotel. It was beautiful.
