"Wonderful Mango Bay, we’ll be back!"

10.0

Hello to all at Mango Bay! Sorry for the late review but the post holiday blues hit us hard when we got home and it’s taken two weeks to recover from the shock of having to cook our own meals and not being able to see you all and the beautiful blue ocean every day!!!Absolutely everyone at Mango Bay knows how to look after their guests so well and the best part is that they also know how to have fun with you too! Thank you to Nikolai, Ryan, Donnell (thank you for all the milkshakes!), Damien, Rayden and Abena as well as everyone else at Mango Bay, you’re all exceptional and if we haven’t named you here it’s only because we have a bad memory for names, as you all deserve a mention for sure! The brilliant Jerry on water sports taught our daughter to waterski, she was so happy, his teaching and patience is amazing. The food at the hotel was delicious with so many flexible options, al a carte, snack menu and sometimes a beach bbq. Our rooms were kept spotless by the cheery and helpful housekeeping team too. In the evenings, the entertainment was very good, especially Mark on Monday evening. Outside of the hotel, we had a fun and informative tour of the island with Scott from Williams Tours and a great day at Hunte’s Gardens with Kate from A+ Tours. If you want to see the turtles, we recommend finding Fernando on the beach, who is so friendly and represents Mark The Shark’s boat tour, they really are turtle whisperers and ensure that everyone sees the turtles but treats them with the respect they deserve! Wish we were still there but we’ll be back in two years for another special celebration, please promise you’ll all still be there! :) Chris, Claire, Jessica and Adam

"barbados june 2025"

6.0

Mango bay hotel is smaller than i was expecting, we had to wait a few hours for our room because it wasnt ready, we had a brief tour. The rooms are a good size for 2 but a little dated, our room looked like it had a fresh coat of paint on the walls. we started on the 3rd floor with ocean view for a little over a week, next to the bathroom is a storage cupboard which leaked water from the room above so had to move my clothes, followed up by a couple days later a water marked stain on the ceiling had some light cracks around it which started to also leak water, a couple of complaints later and a few hours we got moved to a new room on the ground floor, which was alright but!! was the closest room to the bar / restaurant / entertainment and a walk way to everyones rooms, if you wanted and early night, not possible. an all inclusive restaurant with a set menu for lunch and dinner with only a couple of options for starter / main, sometimes there was buffet. standard breakfast options. the food was alright, some good, some not so, some really good, some tinned tuna on salad. Location is perfect, right on the beach, 2 min walk to limegrove shopping centre with shops and restaurants, mini market just at the back, better gym just beyond that called level up, if you like to work out while your away this is a perfct option. There's taxi;s everywhere or the reggae buses, no need to wait at a bus stop they stop everywhere if you put your arm out and sometimes if you dont lol. There's a bigger supermarket 5mins walk down the road with pharmacy, (citronella vasaline, mozi spray) should you need it, mozzys can be a nighmare for some. plenty of watersports on the beach and through the hotel. I would reccommend :salt and sea scuba diving - based at the hotel just behind where you get your towls, karina will look after you, Mark the shark for glass bottom boat, swimming with turtles and wreck snorkling - you get more time swimming than if you go through the hotel, he uses fernando to get customers (a good guy) if your on the beach he will find you, do not worry. For sea fishing i went with Marvin sobers, very good Theres a few good restaurants around if you want to sample local cuisine from low budget to high budget depending on your preference : the cliff, tides, fusion rooftop, the bearded rose, just grilling. facebook pages : barbados for travellers and travellers to barbados most of this stuff you can find on there. barbados $ and us $ is excepted you can take both, if you use barbados $ sometimes your change might be in us$ ust depends rum distillarys also worth a trip all these tour guides will give you plenty of info about the island, where your going, what your seeing. if you have any questions get in touch, il do my best to answer them.

"Fantastic small and friendly all-inclusive in a magical location"

10.0

We had an amazing week in Mango Bay in July for a family holiday. First impressions were excellent - friendly, professional and efficient staff in the lovely reception area and we were overall very impressed with the hotel. It is designed for you to relax and have an easy, fun, time and is fantastic value for money. Our room overlooking the pool was spacious and perfectly clean with a lovely big and comfy bed, fluffy towels (beach towels also available changed daily), and excellent aircon. Mango Bay is well laid out right on the beach with a great pool with shallow and deeper areas. Everything is clean and well looked after. Plenty of seating areas on the beach, deck and pool. There are helpful staff everywhere if you need help with anything. The hotel is small and has a lovely friendly atmosphere. We ate almost all meals in the restaurant. It's varied and good quality, especially breakfasts and dinners. At lunch you can choose to order from a more casual grill menu or to sit in the restaurant. The service was always very good and the staff are great with the children making sure they find something they like and keeping them entertained. We found the bar service, drinks, snacks, and cocktails perfect and the bar team are incredibly welcoming and attentive. We were really made to feel at home and looked after. In the evening there was music and entertainment which was very good and any noise finished up early enough for a family friendly resort. We were never disturbed by noise from construction or from the street. An enormous benefit of staying at Mango Bay is the watersports - sailboat, paddleboards, kayaks, waterskiing are all included. We had never tried waterskiing before. You can book slots with the team and you are looked after by the very professional, patient and encouraging instructor who is committed to getting you skiing. Again, as with all the hotel staff, he was fantastic with our child who had an amazing experience and wanted to come back every day. Just off the beach (which is beautiful and clean, plenty of beds and shady spots, lovely clear water in the swimming area, and possible to walk in both directions around the cover) are two shallow artificial reefs which are absolutely teeming with fish - it felt like snorkelling in an aquarium, we saw rays, angels, trumpet fish, all manner of colourful tropical fish. It is absolutely amazing and varies with the days and the tides. There is also an area a short walk from the hotel with a diving platform and a marine reserve. The bay is really stunning especially in the early morning and evening. Included in the stay is a trip by boat to swim with turtles which we'd highly recommend. The crew are great fun and everyone had a brilliant time. We also took the evening trip to Oistins with a small group and had a fantastic night with good food and company. We booked a surfing lesson at Dread or Dead on the south coast (the hotel helped us with taxi transfer - efficient, flexible, cheap service) and a local scuba dive in Wreckers in Speightstown which we reached on the yellow bus which are cheap and run along the main road through Holetown for an easy way to get out and about. We'd recommend getting out and seeing different sides to the islands and enjoying the amazing ocean. Also very close to the hotel is a really lovely mall with small coffee shops, bars and cafes. The neighbourhood feels very safe and it's easy to get wherever you need to on foot, there's also an ATM and supermarket one block away. We wouldn't hesitate to book again. We have nothing to fault about Mango Bay. The team do everything they can to give you a brilliant stay - from the bar team literally running to grab you a drink, the breakfast team producing waffles on demand for a picky 11 year old, the watersports team advising on good times to go out, the front desk team checking in regularly to make sure everything is going well. We had such a relaxing time on resort and it was a brilliant base for exploring too.

"Just don’t if you are looking for the little things like a mimosa or Diet Coke with ice…."

6.0

This hotel clearly has unverified reviews! As experienced travelers we have never walked into a hotel room and quickly picked up our suitcases and went straight to the front desk with the intent to leave or get a new room. Our first room in 404 looked like something out of a budget hotel that even the Motel 6 with the lights on blew away… our second room was acceptable but again had power outlets for you to plug in all of your appliances including hairdryer and curling irons. The refrigerator has tapwater in a carafe and nothing else. You can only get sparkling wine Saturdays between 5 and 6 PM therefore no mimosas for breakfast and let me add no Bloody Mary’s before 10 AM. And if you’d like a Diet Coke before the breakfast buffet opens it will come with no ice from a very disgruntled person behind the bar. The one restaurant offers a different menu each service that is OK. The bed is comfortable and the shower is absolutely disgusting. The pool, beach and bar area are very nice. The water is crystal clear. But the photos taken for all of the online reviews are not updated by any means. Actually, they’re extremely misleading to the point that we are checking out and going to the local Sandals resort which had a lower rating. I am going to end this review and let you know there is a manager named Isabella who is absolutely wonderful. Not wonderful enough to offer if a refund when we checked out but nice. Just don’t come here until it’s renovated. Otherwise, your expectations need to be subpar at best.

"We’ll be back!"

10.0

Our first time at Mango Bay but have visited Barbados many times. This delightful boutique hotel is in a great location both for the beach (you’re literally on it!) and nightlife, shopping etc. Firstly, the building work next door did not in any way spoil the enjoyment of our holiday. There was little noise from that direction. Our room was pool side. It was immaculately clean with the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The restaurant served a la carte on some days and buffet on others. All good was excellent which meant we ate there mostly .. why wouldn’t you! Great staff in the restaurant, most attentive and polite. Donnell, the best dancer I have ever encountered. The bar served a selection of cocktails and named spirits. It was a joy to watch the hilarious Damien and Raymen with their antics. A special thanks to them, Dale and not forgetting the charming Anderson. Nothing was ever too much trouble. He knows we are coming back again to claim our plantation (he’ll know who’s written this! 😄) Thank you so much to you all. We will definitely be back… soon I hope.

"Great hotel"

10.0

Came here to celebrate 25 years meeting on the island and my husband’s birthday, lovely hotel and staff, don’t worry about building works going on, didn’t bother us at all, More noise from the grass cutting. Food was mainly a la carte even lunchtimes, we did enjoy food at hotel but did eat out several times, Jerry in watersports was brilliant we’ve know him for 18 years, Annette in restaurant was also lovely and several others, we would definately stay here again, we did get lots of bites which we have never had before, not sure if they were in the room or the beach, we love Barbados and love this hotel , we were thinking how does one restaurant and one bar work but it does? see you soon , drinks mostly premium and lovely cocktails

"Hotel with charm and a personal touch. Can't wait to be back again."

10.0

Celebrating a belated honeymoon. Emailed prior to arrival to let them know this and on arrival room was ready right away. Rum punch given on arrival which went down so well. The superior room we booked had a Bottle of champagne and rose petals and the towel animal balloons waiting for us and was overlooking the beach. Assume you could hear the entertainment at night time from The room but we stayed out to listen to the performers after dinner until their sets were over so it didn't affect us or our sleeping. Our first nights meal was amazing we got seated at our table and the menu was personalised for us celebrating our honeymoon. Staff were very attentive and we developed a good rapport with some of them. Dianna in the restaurant was amazing her and the wife had a daily banter and she made she drinks were always there for us. Damien was amazing too we would have daily conversations and he would make me interesting drinks and tell funny stories, Joseph, Kyle and others whose names I can't remember looked after us. The lady who ran the spa I think sherrie was very kind too she gave us recommendations for things to do and even checked to see we made it back home safely. We ended enjoying our conversations with the guests and staff. I enjoyed talking to Hedley the night security. On our last day the staff gave us hugs, this is the first holiday I've ever been on where you feel like you're leaving your friends. Staff are so attentive, ignore people worrying about the noise from the hotel being built. On odd occasion I would hear it while relaxing on the beach or in the water but it didn't effect us at all. Do take mosquito repellents though. Can't wait to come back again. Can see why they get a lot of repeat business. If you want perfection and a modern feel then don't book here but if you want a nice charm and homely feel then do it. The rooms aren't perfect as people have mentioned they are slightly dated but we didn't spend much time in the room to even bother us. Every day we're on the beach or at the bar/restaurant talking to people or having drinks.

Just returned from a wonderful 8 nights at Mango Bay. Couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. Authentic Bajan charm. Staff were all amazing. Room was fabulous (we did upgrade to superior pool / garden room). Snorkeling was exceptional. We never go back to same place twice but we may well do here.
