American Inn-Sealy

I hate to state negatives without also stating something positive, but there is absolutely nothing positive to say about our stay at this location. 1) The lobby smelled VERY strongly of cigarette smoke (located adjacent to the bar); 2) We reserved a non-smoking room, but were given a smoking room because there no available rooms otherwise; 3) There was a dirty pair of underwear (someone else's!!!) in the room when we first entered the room; 4) There were bugs (cock roaches, small crickets, etc.) in the room; 5) Our card key wouldn't open the door when we returned on day two from our outing; 6) The cleaning staff only left one clean towel (there were four of us) in the room on the second day; 7) By the time we went to the lobby to ask for more, the cleaning staff had left and locked the supply room, so the desk person gave us ONE from behind the counter (good thing we are a close family)...needless to say the towel also REEKED of cigarette smoke (see number 1 above); 8) The continental breakfast was a joke and included Little Debbie oatmeal cream cakes... 9) Not that they can help this, but there is a train track just behind the back of the building. Sounds like a tornado coming through in the middle of the night. I highly recommend you opt for something else, I know we will in the future.

You don't pay much for this hotel so it makes for a great "drop your stuff and stay away for the day" hotel but other than that, cannot recommend it. The staff was never rude but never very helpful. There was confusion about my wanting to pay cash rather than use a credit card -- at first, I was told I could not but when I reminded them that they cannot refuse cash, they let me. But, when I needed leave a day early, they refused refund so I got stuck with extra day. The biggest problem was that on one day they did not clean my room! Yuck! When I had to go ask for more towels and toilet paper, they initially told me I'd have to pay for it! I argued that, too, and successfully did not pay extra. The smoking from the lounge stinks throughout the front of the hotel and makes it impossible to eat breakfast in there. Breakfast options horrible.

We were going to Brenham TX area to see the wildflowers & nearly all motels were booked. This motel is approximately 33 miles from Brenham which was the closest with rooms available to accomodate our group of 5. They had adjoining rooms which worked perfectly for our girl trip. Our rooms were pleasant & comfortable...both bathrooms needed mild maintenance due to commodes running. We called before reserving rooms asking about the "roach" review. The manager assured us that they were having regular pest control & the problem was taken care of. The continental breakfast wasn't anything to recommend...a very limited carb fest. The price was the most economical of any place we have stayed & we got the BEST price by reserving directly to motel by phone...nearly $20 cheaper than internet rate.

Infested with cock roaches! The staff and housekeeping was amazing. It was in a great location, but over run with roaches. Pulled the hair dryer from the wall and had a roach fall out. Sprayed multiple times, but just couldn't get rid of them!

We felt it was quite nice for the price. As long as a place is clean it doesn't need to be fancy. We weren't disturbed by any noise. Hinze's Barbeque & Catering is a short walk from the inn and is a great place to eat. Casual and good food.

Night 2 of our trip from Phoenix to Galveston was spent here. Non-smoking room, two queen beds. A/C worked well. The front desk warned us about the train that comes through in the middle of the night and followed it up with "but you won't here it because I am putting you up front." The room was very clean, beds comfy. Customer service was great, check-out was easy and as a bonus I found out they do a discount for either AAA or AARP. While this is in no way a 5 star resort, I would be more than happy to stay here again when on the road. It is located just south of the I-10 on the east side of the road.
