DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa

The property is full of character and is an interesting building with well-presented and tastefully decorated public areas. Its location is excellent, making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. The spa facilities are a welcome addition and provide a great opportunity to relax and unwind during your stay.

There were a few areas that could be improved. Having to pay separately for parking was disappointing. Offering free parking would have been nice. During the night, the original sash windows repeatedly banged in the wind, waking us at around 12:38am. I eventually had to wedge the windows shut to stop the noise. The room itself was a good size, but there were very few accessible electrical sockets, which made charging devices inconvenient. The bedroom décor also felt dated and didn’t match the modern, well-finished bathroom. In addition, the shower had a leak from the secondary hose. At breakfast, guests were expected to reuse the same cups for coffee, and fresh coffee was topped up by pouring it into cups containing the remnants of previous drinks. This wasn’t particularly hygienic or appealing and detracted from an otherwise pleasant breakfast experience.

Location and Spa

Got a disabled room for some reason. The sink was at knee height! Kettle was in cupboard no where to make drink. Re tiling in the bar area, pretty loud.

Everything. It was so below the standard we would expect of a Hilton Double Tree. Horrible room with old metal windows, no view except the tarmac flat roof. No air conditioning, only a fan provided. Bed was too soft, pillows too soft. The room wasn’t as clean as we’d expect and only 1 tea bag each provided. No coffee machine and only 1 sachet of instant coffee- very poor. More like a 2 star hotel. We had an electric car and there was only access to 1 charging station which was occupied so we had to drive somewhere else and wait to charge the car.

Very hotel great facilities, lovely pool area and a great location.

Checking in for 50 minutes. Saying my room wasn’t booked when I had confirmation on my phone. The doors being locked not being able to get in late at night. The room with o air conditioning. The food and drink being over priced.
