Casa de Campo Resort & Villas

We drove over an hour from Punta Cana to visit Altos de Chavón, something we were excited about and planned our day around. When we arrived at the Casa de Campo main gate, we were refused entry without any clear explanation. We tried every reasonable option — requesting a day pass, offering to book a spa service, even escalating to a manager. The employee at the gate, Ysabel, was extremely rude, dismissive, and completely lacking empathy. Instead of offering solutions or even basic courtesy, she spoke to us as if we were an inconvenience. For a resort of this caliber, the treatment was shocking. We were never told of any closure, private event, or valid reason for being turned away. We were simply denied access after a long drive, with no help and no professionalism. Tried to trouble shoot with them and even the manager - offered to book spa or day pass to the beach. If you’re planning to visit Altos de Chavón as a non‑guest, be aware: Casa de Campo can arbitrarily refuse entry, even when you follow all instructions. This experience completely derailed our day and left a very negative impression. If we stayed here I have no reason to assume we would have been treated with much hospitality.

Beautiful vacation. Very attentive staff. Especially Willis at the beach. So nice and helpful. Edward G at reception took the time to see which room location was best for us. And Arisleydad at La Cana helped to make our trip memorable. Pls let them know our appreciation. Looking forward to our next visit.

We recently returned to Casa de Campo after previously visiting in September 2024, and while we still enjoyed our stay overall, we did feel that standards had declined since our last visit. The resort remains beautiful, with well-maintained grounds and a great atmosphere, but certain areas now appear to be in need of maintenance and modernisation. Our room was clean and comfortable; however, the décor and furnishings felt quite dated for a resort at this price point. We also experienced very slow and unreliable WiFi throughout our stay. The food across the restaurants was generally good, although not to the same standard we remembered from our previous visit. While nothing was poor, the quality and consistency could certainly be improved. We did experience a few issues during our stay; however, we would like to acknowledge that the guest services team handled our concerns professionally and responded in a timely and courteous manner. Their efforts and attention to our feedback were appreciated. The need to repeatedly present our guest card every time we ordered food or drinks at the restaurants and bars was frustrating. Over time, this became inconvenient and detracted slightly from the otherwise relaxed experience. The card is essentially laminated thin cardboard so quickly becomes worn & the print wears away making key information (room & name) difficult to read. The majority of staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and the resort still has a lot to offer in terms of facilities, atmosphere, and location. In particular, we would like to thank Argentina, Danny, and Randy for their excellent service at the hotel pool, as well as Yunior and Rene at Lago during breakfast. Overall, we had an enjoyable holiday, but considering the prices charged, we expected a higher standard. We hope to see some investment and improvements made before considering a return in the future.

Casa de Campo exceeded every expectation. We stayed in the Premier Suites, and the accommodations, comfort, and overall experience were absolutely outstanding. As beautiful as the property and facilities were, what truly made the trip exceptional was the incredible service from Joan, Jonathan, Jose Gil, and Anyeli. They anticipated our needs every step of the way and made the entire experience effortless and fun. From arranging excursions and dinner reservations to coordinating transportation and making sure we never missed a thing, their attention to detail and hospitality were unmatched. Their warmth, professionalism, and energy turned an amazing vacation into an unforgettable one. We cannot wait to return!

Jose Felix and Ernesto c have been the best bartender in the Cana bar ever so nice so friendly made jokes with us made my experience probably 20 times better. Best bartenders I’ve met since I’ve been here. Wish I could drink with them all day #beach #ILBN

The property is stunning, but what really stood out was the attentive staff that ensured our experience was nothing less than perfect and memorable. Shout out to our favorite team members - Joan, Jonathan, Jose, Gil, and especially Anyeli! Also, Special Riquey at the beach! They each put a smile on our faces with each encounter. Thank you, Casa de Campo! We will be back.

I really wanted to rate Casa de Campo Resort & Villas 5 stars because the resort itself is beautiful, the grounds are stunning, and many of the staff were genuinely kind and welcoming. We were also incredibly grateful for our presidential suite upgrade, which was absolutely beautiful and a real highlight of the trip. A special mention also has to go to Yeseniah at the premiere reception who was honestly the star of our stay. She was warm, helpful, professional, and went above and beyond to make us feel looked after throughout our time at the resort. Staff like her are a huge asset to Casa de Campo. Unfortunately, despite those positives, there were too many issues during our stay for me to justify a full 5-star review. Firstly, the fireworks for a private event at the beach club were extremely distressing. There was no warning given to guests beforehand, and the noise level felt far beyond what would reasonably be expected within a resort environment. The sudden explosions triggered severe anxiety and PTSD symptoms and completely changed the tone of what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. A simple notice to guests in advance would have made a huge difference. What was even more disappointing was that after I raised concerns about this, nobody meaningfully addressed it the following day or checked in afterward, which made the situation feel dismissed rather than taken seriously. Secondly, we discovered a charge of around $300 added to our room for SBG despite the fact that we never even went there. This was incredibly frustrating and concerning, especially at a resort of this standard where guests should feel confident that billing is accurate and secure. Thirdly, the resort refused to apply a spa credit we were entitled to because our appointment was booked in the evening — despite there being no earlier availability offered to us. That felt unfair and unnecessarily inflexible, particularly when availability constraints were outside of our control. Lastly, I was genuinely saddened to see the number of stray and pregnant cats around the resort and marina areas. The staff themselves were kind and clearly tried to feed and care for them where they could, but it is disappointing that a resort of this size and wealth does not appear to have a proper TNR (trap, neuter, return) and vaccination programme in place. The cats are seemingly tolerated because they help control mice, yet many are left unneutered and without proper veterinary care. It is upsetting to see pregnant cats in a luxury resort environment when the resources clearly exist to manage this humanely and responsibly. Casa de Campo has the potential to be an incredible 5-star experience, and there were certainly aspects we genuinely loved, but overall the stay was overshadowed by avoidable issues and a lack of care in areas that really matter.
