Hôtel de Bourgogne

Lovely older hotel. Staff was helpful. Central location.

Central location, clean rooms, economical price! We would stay there again! A short 8-10 minute walk from the train station. Walkable to shopping, groceries and restaurants.

Reasonably priced hotel but not a great stay. We thought we'd pre-booked a parking space at the hotel but that appeared to not be the case so had to park in an open public car park in the town. Room 101 was convenient to main staircase and lift to ground floor. The mattress was super firm. However, the sliding door to the en suite was a total disaster, as it made an awful noise whenever we closed or opened it. Also when 'closed', it left open spaces either side so no privacy whatsoever. The double bed on the l/h/side was against the window/wall so I had to climb over the bed to get in and out of it. The 'see-thru' plastic type chair was very noisy when it was moved. However, the shaving mirror in the en suite was excellent and superb in every way and there was lots of space to spread toiletries out. The hotel is a beautiful old building but sadly the awful, far to modern updates, are a total disaster. Breakfast was nothing short of chaotic. It was self-service but we were unable to find cutlery or plates, which we finally discovered hidden in drawers and selves below the food. No hot milk was available to have with our coffee.

I remain a bit bitter about our experience there; the good things are: a good breakfast, well soundproofed rooms, location right next to pedestrian old town centre, grandiose wooden staircase, standards rooms with usual facilities. The bad things are: No maintenance personnel: a wonky toilet seat remain a wonky toilet seat for the duration of the stay, over exploited car park with inquisitive questioning, to manage who is going in and out in order to be assigned a spot, leaving the car keys to reception, over chatty personnel unable to notice when they bother you (the old lady) To avoid if you come by car but recommended if you come by train (nearby)

A very comfortable stay in Macon once again. Walking distance to everything we needed... shops, dining, the market on the quay and Historic Macon city center. Bery comfortable room and bed. It's our go to hotel in Macon. Reasonably priced too. Excellent buffet breakfast.

We needed a night stay between Macon & Beaujolais. We arrived late, but the restaurant at next door was open. We found street parking (free) and found the hotel to be in good condition with an extremely friendly staff. We would stay here again.

Charming and rooms are nice

Perfectly situated. Very helpful staff and a cute room. We enjoyed our stay!

Stop over on our way home. Cant really fault it especially given its value, and it is really easy to get to. Everything is spotlessly clean and solidly functional, including an excellent shower and bathroom, just some of the decor choices I found a bit challenging! We ate at the excellent Blue Tomato just yards up the road, and found a wonderful bakery Passion Boulanger just down the road to stock up for our journey. Altogether a great place to choose.

Lovely hotel, well situated. Disappointing lack of tea making facility. On site parking was full (and appeared to be completely congested) but we were directed to a car park very close by which was excellent.
