Palace Hotel & Spa Buxton

1 awful stay especially if your in a wheel chair or use a scooter definitely not disabled friendly

The hotel is of impressive size, with the foyer and main staircase having a luxurious vintage feel. The room had a huge, comfortable bed, all clean and had all we needed. Breakfast was decent with a self-service buffet and a variety of choices. The price we paid was unbeatable, and, considering we only needed a place to sleep, it was an amazing deal. Great place location wise, in the heart of the beautiful Peak District and with Bakewell (the town of the famous tarts!) a short drive away.

It took a long time, several staircases and corridors to get to our room in the back, however, I guess that's to be expected in a hotel of this size. It had a dated feel not on par with the grand entrance, which was slightly disappointing once we got there.

Building is beautiful on the exterior, the location is really nice

Was dumped unceremoniously in a basement room with no window, heating didn't work (complaint that was echoed by other guests), bathtub screen was partly missing, just overall you feel out of place if you're not their usual white elderly well off clientele

Reception kindly changed the room when I arrived, as the first one had issues. Thank you.

On 14.5.26 I left early am. When returning in the afternoon, there was smell of smoke in the room and the bed looked as if someone has slept in it, which was strange.

Nice Victorian property.,

Could do with maintenance upkeep I.e. pairing

Hotel room and location was really nice.

Went for a spa weekend could not get any massages or beauty treatments as the staff only work on certain days so we were told we could have a massage in 3 days. No mention of limited services in the ad description or we wouldn’t have booked.
