No room service was available for dinner because the restaurant was busy. This was disappointing as I was travelling alone at that point and had relied on this service being available (part of the reason for selecting the hotel). We also requested room service breakfast, only to be told this would cost an additional £20 per person plus a tray charge, even though our room rate included breakfast. The room was also very warm. The sofa bed was saggy.

The service in the service in the bar and restaurant were poor, long delays for drinks, food was served cold and chicken was so over cooked that you could not cut it. The breakfast trays were empty when I arrived for breakfast and were still empty when I left. It appeared that there was a lack of staff.

Standard rooms have no air con- you have to upgrade to get it - and there were no upgrade rooms left on one of the hottest days of the year. However the staff found us a fan which made it more bearable.

I am not sure why the approach is to not service the rooms during the stay. I certainly do not need changed bedsheets or a deep clear, but I would appreciate bins being emptied and loo role replaced. We were travelling with a small toddler and took out the bins ourselves to avoid any unpleasant smells. The breakfast spread was great overall but really poor for catering for allergies.. I would suggest small descriptions next to the food available stating any main allergens.
