The Maharaja's Lodge, Ranthambore

You feel like in a real lodge, with the atmosphere of a Safari. Although the premises are a little bit old, our family suite was nice and comfortable. The food was really good, we enjoyed our stay

Check In took a bit longer than expected. But yeah well managed in the end.

The dinner menu was too limited but yes passable, not great.

Breakfast was very good and all staff very attentive. Overall service was excellent. Had a wonderful stay.

The property is charming in a very old-school way. Large open gardens with tall trees decking the boundaries. It gives off a very soothing and relaxing vibe. The staff is pleasant and will make sure to interact with you on a daily basis. The room size was huge, with two double beds and an extra bed for the kid. NB: The mattresses are soft and pliable, for those looking for a stiff board with back issues. There are fun evening engagements planned out for folks wanting to lounge in, or near, the gardens in the evening. There were painting, bangle making, and star gazing activities planned out. Mandatory your mileage might vary applies.

The breakfast spread was thin, with just the bare necessities. The dinner preparations were bland and lacked any local flavour. I really wanted to relish the Laal Maans, but all I could taste was chilly. The pool cleanliness has to be called out specially. I had expressed concerns on seeing the cloudy green water in the pool. I enquired about the cleaning schedules and facilities at the hotel. I was assured that though there was algae, it would take time to clean it, so they changed the water and treated it everyday. I chanced it as my kid really wanted a dip. Both of us fell ill in a matter of a day after coming back with cold and cough. It is a minor quibble, but the advertised TV channels via their channel guide were not really subscribed. I had to repeatedly ask the managers to help with this. It took them a day to get this done. For families travelling with young kids, a bit of evening TV will certainly help to relax.

The staff and the service was top notch ...

The property is perfect for a group of friends to enjoy together. The staff went over and above to fulfill all our requirents. The chefs took excellent care of us.
