Mercure Hotel Stuttgart Zuffenhausen

The hotel has had some recent renovations but unfortunately they used direct stick carpet which made the floor very hard. It's fairly close to everything, local train will take you into the town center, approximately 15 minutes. The room was a reasonable size and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was OK but the shower was small. It was unusual to find that the bar and restaurant were both closed . However, close by there is a supermarket where you can buy just about anything. There are also many local restaurants withing walking distance. The gentleman on the afternoon shift was extremely helpful with directions and suggestions. Another positive note, is that the hotel is walking distance to the Porsche Museum, which is a must see.

Overall the stay was below average. Welcomed by a bottle of beer in the entry checkin was completed by a sullen receptionist with blonde curly locks. I phoned beforehand to early check in which she wasn’t well aware of. Hotel is pretty old, grey over grey interior, ancient furniture. Parking was quite good in front of hotel. The price was hefty compared to other mercure hotels and especially to Mövenpick Stuttgart airport. It’s not worth to pay more than 80€ per night because of service and features. The same curly hair madam did check out, being as impolite as usual. No receipt given, no “how was your stay?”. As a platinum member this hotel won’t be visited again. Breakfast was ok but located in cellar without natural light (kind of weird hostel character).

Chose this hotel for the proximity to the Porsche Museum (a few mins walk away) and it was perfectly fine for a one night stay. We arrived late around midnight and had no issues checking in or getting a beer from the fridge. Room was small but clean, all things considered this was a great hotel for the price.

The room was good. Found it strange that there is a bar in the lobby that hasn’t been open for 2 years. It looked like was ready to open even had drinks listed on a menu chalkboard. I’ve been to several hotels where the people at the reception desk also ran the bar.

The hotel is 15 min away from the centre...so is good because there is plenty of parking near the hotel The area is not the best but is quite and near Porche museum When i saw the front picture of the hotel i had the impression that it is much bigger and much better...well it isnt.. The room was clean and breakfast good even though is not free... But in the two nights i stayed the room wasnt cleaned and at the end of first day the keys were not working.. All in all is a good choice for couple of days and if you have a car

Nice location near Porsche Museum and factory, easy walk there. Plenty of free parking on street around hotel. However would not stay here in summer months. There is no AC and the room was boiling hot with only open window to help. In cooler months would stay again if visiting Porsche

Rooms unavailable until 16:00, and no attempt to fix the problem or apology from staff. Evening service glacially slow. Room spartan and in need of a refresh, although clean. Internet and breakfast ok. Overall an underwhelming experience.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. My late night arrival was coldly welcomed by the receptionist. No Silver loyalty membership advantages were given. The room was very minimal and the heating was off. The featured coffee & tea tray was not available (just the boiler). This hotel is definitely below the quality avarage of the Mercure brand - it is more like an Ibis. There is plenty of free night parking nearby.
