"Shabby, overpriced, run-down and non-compliant with fire code."

It's in Northampton.

We were initially assigned to a room that 1. smelled bad 2. had no functioning AC/Heater unit (knobs had been removed) and 3. had no phone with which to call the front desk. We schlepped back downstairs and were given keys to a different room. Great. At least we had some heat/air circulation. We watched their basic cable TV, which was all ads. Blah. Fell asleep. THEN at 2 am, the smoke/CO detector started chirping. It would not stop. We finally pulled a desk over and stood on it and disconnected the OBVIOUSLY old battery. NOT a restful night. Front desk guy in the morning was unapologetic and blamed US for not calling 0 in the middle of the night. We are seeking a refund via booking.com. The place is overall shabby. Breakfast was leathery fake scrambled eggs; packaged granola bars; cold and weak coffee. All this for $179.

Cleanliness and friendly staff. Decent location.

Parking was a little tight. Rooms were a bit noisy. TV remote was terrible. Facility was dated. Breakfast was very limited.

The room and staff were quite good. Just the outside...crumbling stairways, very old and outdated. BUT...the room was comfortable, clean and modern.
