"Beautiful view, dirty, no water."

8.0

The view was spectacular for our $190 US per night charge. The balcony is not private very noisy. No water shower, sink, toilet 2 out of 4 days. The room was extremely dusty. dirty cups and spoons. Mattress is old and bowl shaped. Hotel doesn't provide nearly enough water to drink, brush teeth and make coffee (they only provide 1 liter per day). Linens smelled bad, we couldn't use the towels the last day as they smelled so bad like dirt and crackers. Nice free hike beautiful views (wear hiking shoes) Spanish speaking guide. Kind staff.

"Gorgeous Views and Courteous Staff"

8.0

Hotel is conveniently right across the road from the train station. A man from the hotel met us by our luggage and took it to the lobby for us, which was nice because there are some steps along the way and also we didn't really know where the hotel was. Important to know: this and other hotels do not have potable water in the rooms. And they will gouge you for bottled water. But in the shops at the train station there is one that sells water very reasonably, so stock up there. The room was pretty simple but the bed was very comfortable, climate control worked great, and the view from the balcony kept us out there a lot. The edge of the canyon is literally at your feet. The night sky is spectacular after some of the exterior lighting goes off; they could do with some better aiming and shading to give a dark sky. The food was good in the restaurant but quite limited in scope. Bar service was very casual; if there was no bartender the lady at the front desk just told us to grab our own beers out of the cooler. The lounge area windows have hummingbird feeders on the exterior so there's some delightful bird watching. There was essentially no English spoken so it's best to have a little travel Spanish in your tool kit.

I love the vibe and the views at this place! Best hotel in the area by far. Way better price and views than the overpriced Hotel Mirador.

"Excellent location with good food and service,"

6.0

The hotel is located walking distance to the park, the food they have is pretty decent, the staff is friendly and helpful almost all rooms have unbelievable views and the hotel has a very nice "cozy cabin" feeling. On the downsides our room's heating wasn't working the first night, and although they did all possible to repair it (we noticed this until it was night) they couldn't and brought us thick blankets...I slept well and the heating was repaired the next day. There is no TV nor phone in the room and wifi is poor. The bar at the lobby has games which gives it a nice "cozy cabin" however they close very early, so if you are looking for dinner and drinks you are better just relaxing at your room or reading a book in their reading room. It feels the hotel just needs a bit of freshen up and modernization.

"Amazing Exquisite View "

8.0

If you want to immerse yourself in the beauty of Mexico’s Copper Canyon this is the place to stay. It is a very short walk off of the train El Chepe. The view from our room looked directly out at the canyon. A few steps out of the room and you could look directly straight down to the bottom of the canyon. We had a lovely outside sitting area to take in the beauty. Our room was decorated with a beautiful mural over our king bed with a fireplace across from the bed. There was a large dresser and two matching night stands. There was an open closet with more storage. The bathroom was nice and clean but the water had a color of tea. We used bottle water to brush our teeth. There was a coffee pot but no hair dryer. The hotel had a nice bar and dining room both with beautiful views of the canyon. You could buy Indian wares at the market next to the hotel. If we are ever lucky enough to come back to the Copper Canyon we will stay here again.
