ibis Calais Car Ferry

Convenient Overnight Stay for the Ferry We stayed at the Ibis Hotel in Calais for one night as we needed an early ferry crossing the following morning, and it served its purpose perfectly for this. The hotel is fairly basic and a little dated in places, but it is clean and functional, which is exactly what we needed for a short stopover. There is a bar and a small restaurant on site, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which was very good and convenient after a long day of travelling. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the stay more enjoyable. The location is also practical, being around a 15-minute drive from the ferry terminal, making it ideal for early departures.

The hotel has ground floor rooms as well as two upper floors, but there is no lift, which could be an issue if you have a lot of luggage or mobility difficulties. We weren’t asked whether we required a ground floor room and were automatically allocated a second-floor room, which would have been useful to clarify on check-in. Overall, it’s not a luxury stay, but for a simple, convenient overnight stop before the ferry, it does the job well and we would use it again for the same purpose.

Een eenvoudig, maar plezierig hotel. De aardige receptionist verzorgde ook de bar en de maaltijden. Het ontbijt was behoorlijk uitgebreid. de parkeer faciliteiten waren ruim bemeten.

De kamer had wel iets groter gemogen. Er was geen airco.

Die Lage zur Fähre.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommene Zimmer. Aber für Durchreise akzeptabel.
