Somewhat easy to check in, however I had booked a king sized bed. Got there late - told they gave someone else my bed and I had to have doubles. Tried to take elevator - wasn't working and kept closing and opening, then making noise that made me feel it was unsafe. Said something to desk clerk about both and they didn't give a crap. I mean, no cares in the world. Next day I went to a dentist appointment. The workmen opened the door to the room while my 19 year old daughter was in there not once, not twice, BUT THREE TIMES. She was terrified. They ofc had some excuse and I would have understood perhaps once, but not three times. Then, once I called after she called me terrified, they again didn't give a crap and made some excuse. This was at 830 in the morning - not at 11 when you might expect a maid service. Then, after I called back after the second and third time, someone called and left me a half assed response with excuses and an offer to check out late. SURE BUDDY. It is a good location and could be a gorgeous hotel, but not with no working elevator (desk guy told me, "oh, the elevator is like that, it's fine to ride in. SURE. I'm not getting in a non working elevator," It would have been nicer if they had offered something like some sort of money off, but it didn't feel safe to have GROWN MEN opening my hotel room door at 830 in the am. This is dangerous and I hope all women, single or not, realize that this is not a safe or acceptable practice. I used to live in the area and this is again a great location, but I paid $168 for a hotel where my daughter didn't feel safe and I had to try to figure out how deal with that situation while I was in a dental chair. Not cool, Hotel Alice.

The proximity to the beach was nice.

The hotel absolutely insists on charging you an additional $30 on top of whatever arrangement you have with any booking site or travel agency. They don’t care. They charge your card and won’t remove it. They say it’s for use of the gym, pool, and parking. This isn’t a visible charge when booking the room and is a surprise when you arrive on site. We don’t care to use the pool or the gym and knowing ahead of time that they charged $15 a day for parking would have caused us to go somewhere else. The staff is nice enough but blames “corporate” for the charge and refuses to listen to reason. Booking.com, if you use them, is zero help and doesn’t mention the charge when you make the booking. Disputing the charge with your credit card company is the only avenue you have to avoid this blatant wallet grab by Hotel Alice.

The staff was very professional and helpful. The pool was nice and loved the sitting areas in the lobby.

The room was not cleaned very well. The sheets (and the mattress) on the sofa bed were so dirty/stained, there's no telling when the last time they were changed. It was absolutely horrible. Front staffed was alerted right away. I touched the shower head to adjust it and a white substance got all over my hand. These areas definitely need attention every time housekeeping cleans these rooms.
