The people at Hotel Arts made a huge difference to our stay in Calgary. This small boutique hotel is all about catering to personal needs. We were there for 9 days, due to complications arising from my wife's surgery. Every single person is attentive to guest needs and requests. Even after 8 days, the desire to assist us was at the top of staff concerns. Could not be more pleased. Many thanks!

The problem is the smoke from the lounge/breakfast area from the wood burning fireplace is apparently sucked back into the HVAC system making it smoky in mornings and evenings when they use the fireplace. The smell problematic in our room not the hallways or the area with fireplace. We asked about this twice and on one occasion were told by the manager Colin that all the rooms have this issue and it is weather dependant - how the smoke is sucked into fresh air vent. It was smoky in the morning and late evening all 4 days we were there. Another couple we talked to said they noticed it in their room too. What is puzzling to me is that the fire was burning even during times when this area was nearly empty or completely unoccupied despite it being unnecessary for the comfort of the space and knowing it had already been identified as an issue. In fact it was too hot to sit close to the fireplace. One time when I voiced my concerns the staff said they would avoid restoking the fire that morning. The breakfast was just okay and not well monitored or stocked. It was out of jam two of the 3 days I had breakfast there. On the good side - Nice little hotel that is in a good location if you want to explore Kensington or the beautiful trails along the river. I like the decor or the rooms and most housekeeping did a good job. Some of the staff were very pleasant.

A beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of Calgary - so close to the most enjoyable river walks, shopping, cafes, and restaurants! The staff at the hotel are professional, friendly, and very helpful and the food is delicious!

A great place for a lovely night The location is perfect with conversation underground parking and trails along river.

Nice location, within a short walk to downtown. Room was spacious and clean, with a great bathroom. Breakfast and parking are great amenities and Colin and his staff were friendly and very accommodating.

We are frequent return guests at this excellent hotel. We love the location, and the small, cozy feel and undeniable luxury. Highly recommended

From start to finish, we had an excellent experience. Out of the six rooms five were fantastic. Overall you can’t beat this property for the price. Cory will take great care of you, as will all the staff.
