ECO Lifestyle & Lodge

We fell in with the Bathsheba area 30 yrs ago on our Honeymoon. We looked for a place to stay on the East side and Eco Lifestyle and Lodge looked like it was laid back, quaint and unique. We were not disappointed. We are from Michigan, so having a room with AC was important and it definitely made us comfortable. The pillows we're a bit big for us and we should have asked for smaller ones, but looking out the bedroom window at Palm trees and hearing the night sounds and surf was dreamy. The views are like paradise and the pace is whatever you make of it. Highly recommend renting a car and upgrade your cell service to international so you can use driving apps, you'll need it. The value, experience, staff and location is outstanding. We hope it does not take us 30 years to return, but when we do, we will stay at ECO.

I stayed at ELL for this past weekend with my husband as a staycation. The property is well kept with simple yet well appointed rooms. We stayed in one of the cottage rooms on our second night and this was such a pleasant experience. The cottage is spacious with air conditioning and its own private balcony with a hammock. The views at the property are beautiful and the hammocks and deck are just the perfect touch for an afternoon relaxation. My main criticisms for this property were with respect to the restaurant. We were told that breakfast would be available on the Saturday morning, but on arrival at the property at midday were then informed that no meal would be available until dinner time on Saturday. This wasn't a huge deal as we ventured up the road to a nearby rum shop for a late lunch but we were a bit disappointed that we couldn't try the restaurant as expected. The restaurant menu is quite concise. No meat options available but this is in keeping with the whole theme of the property, so expected. We ordered the beetroot ravioli. We were a bit surprised that this was not a ravioli pasta but a vegan take on 'ravioli' with raw beets sliced and a filling placed in the middle. There were four small pieces and perhaps a bit pricey for what was delivered, in our opinion. Our main suggestion would be a clarification on the menu about what this dish exactly is or perhaps encourage the waiting staff to clarify for patrons to avoid confusion. Overall a good experience!

Wonderful views. Peaceful gardens, comfortable bed and very helpful staff. Little noisy at night if windy.

Charming and tastefully decorated guesthouse by the ocean. Beautiful location, but far from shops. There are Two good restaurants and bars in walking distance, but they close early and you will need a car for everything else. Staff is very helpful and accommodating.

Great place to unwind on a more secluded corner of the island. Staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Very clean.

We stayed in a suite with a king bed. It was rustic and a nice break from the south coast. Andy one of the local drivers brought us to a convenience store where we got some breakfast foods and snacks to cook. Very relaxing & quiet. Beautiful breeze coming off the east coast. If your looking for something tranquil & peaceful to stay, are okay with the isolation, I would highly recommend it.

We loved our stay at Sea-U! If you are looking for hi-tech entertainment, casinos, swimming pools full of bathing beauties & room service, this is definitely not your destination. However, if you want peace and quiet in idyllic surroundings with a drop-dead gorgeous view you may well have found your new home. Friendly & helpful staff. Veg out with a good book or your camera in a hammock slung between palm trees. Rooms are really comfy studios with semi-private verandas. Decor is simple/rustic but pleasant - all looking out on the view. Food is simple, homemade and served with a smile; albeit limited in selection. Sea-U was taken over by new owners last week who are enthusiastic about the tremendous potential this property has and excited about all their plans. Can't wait to see what they do! Will definitely be back.

Nobody there to check me in. No fault of sea u but there was a Monsoon and it was so cold. I asked for late check out and was told I could use the grounds .... in a storm.. no other suggestion or help offered.nowhere to go here . Food was worst in Caribbean . Great local bar thankfully. I found that myself. No info offered. Checkout was thankless

This was our first time to Barbados, so we did not have a great perspective on the location. When we first arrived we felt like we were a little isolated...but then after a little exploring realized we had lots to do and places to eat/drink. The trail that leads to Bath Beach one way and Bathsheba the other way were fantastic. The views stunning. The room was exceptional and well maintained for our needs.

All you can hear is the waves from the beach and the breeze through the trees. Best place to be.
