The Stirling Highland Hotel

Room was shabby and very tired looking. They had the cheek to charge me extra £25 when checking in because I had a tiny little dog (an Imperial Shih Tzu, which weighs less than 4kg). My dog doesn't shed hair and is immaculately clean. They said it was to carry out a deep clean after we left. Pity that wasn't done before we got there. You could see a layer of dust under the bed when sitting on the armchair. The doors were badly scratched. Pain coming off, mould around bath. Will never stay here again. Photo's below. We got a dinner bed and breakfast deal on spa seekers. The value for money was good however, the spa facilities are lacking and in need of updating and the layout for treatments is strange. Food tasted great but service for dinner was slow, nearly 45 mins between courses.The room was a bit rundown and carpet dirty but bed comfortable. Great location if visiting Stirling.

Went here for spa day for friends birthday amazing treatments and Sonia was lovely and .felt great afterwards. We had afternoon tea was lovely too bit skimpy with the sandwiches

We stayed here for one night, arriving the day we flew in to Edinburgh. Parking was very easy and secure. We were on the first floor and it was still one of the quietest places I have ever stayed. We slept soundly and got some much-needed rest after our travels. Shower was great, and we left refreshed and ready for a full day.

Ive stayed here before, its in a great position for shopping, restaurants and attractions. I like that they have plenty of parking.

Excellent location, easy access to train station. Great service, friendly and helpful But the bed is soooo soft, makes your body hurt! Forget sleeping on the edge, you’ll roll over out of the bed! The pillow is bon existence as it is so soft like nothing in it. It’s two mattresses put together to make it king bed, and either side is just so bad mattress.

We were only in town for two days and this was the perfect setting for us. So convenient for all of our needs.

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and room was comfortable. Location is perfect.

Mystified that this hotel is apparently 4 star. My room looked like it hadn’t been updated in 20 years. Stained grouting in the bathroom, marks on the paintwork, cheap dated furniture that looked grubby. It’s a no from me!

This hotel is in a great location in Stirling for proximity to the Castle, Old Town Jail and pubs and restaurants. That’s the only good thing about it. It’s very over-priced and not good value at all. Probably the worst buffet breakfast I’ve experienced; scrambled eggs that taste like rubber, undrinkable coffee, and couldn’t even get a glass of orange juice (staff said “the supplier was out”). The ensuite in the room was grubby, and housekeeping hung our wet, dirty towels back up for us to re-use, which had been lying on the dirty floor for hours. They said they had a shortage of towels. Unbelievable! And to top It off they charge £10 pound to use their onsite pool.
