Hotel ibis Strasbourg Centre Halles

The hotel was wonderful except one very important moment: two single beds are not separated at all as the configuration and fixed furniture in the room don't allow it. So it was basically one big bed. The reception seemed to not understand the issue having kept saying that in fact there were two single beds. After an eight hour bus trip where my mom and I were sitting together, the last thing we wanted was to sleep basically in one bed. This is a very negative feature of the hotel as all the rooms have the same plan. The interesting part of this story was when a receptionist having listened to me about being not comfortable sleeping in one bed with my mother suggested booking another room to be comfortable. Really??

Decent hotel in an excellent area. Very close to tram station and all restaurants and bars. A close walk to the cathedral. The hotel itself was spotless with very friendly reception team, however is in need of a little tender love and care! The breakfast was good! Overall a pleasant Ibis stay!

Very pleasant hotel. Great staff

Hotel is conveniently located near the train station with a nearby tram stop. There is a shopping mall right next door with restaurants and supermarket. Nice breakfast with a lot of choices. Only negative comment is my queen-sized bed consisted of two twin beds put together. The beds moved and separated during my sleep.

Small and simple room but clean. Reception staff smily and helpful. 10min from train station and right on the edge of the town centre. Great for Christmas markets

Decent location and friendly staff. The property is in ok condition. The third floor had the strongest smell of (rotting?) urine that I have EVER encountered. Our room was dorm chic, minimal and well laid out. The (advertised) AC seemed weak, but we were just dropping luggage and going out. Returning around midnight we managed to get into our room without gagging in the urea rich hall. The room was stifling so we called reception. The clerk went over the operation of the thermostat. After 15 minutes we called again and were moved to the 4th floor, which smelled fine (Yay). The AC in the new room didn't work, either. This time when I called the nice clerk he informed me "it blows only hot air." I phoned Hotels.com and spoke with Christian. While I waited on hold he called the Ibis Halle and verified that there IS NO AC. I refused a $50 gift certificate. Sleep was imposed with the windows open in a very busy area where construction is everywhere. If you're not sensitive to temperature, noise, or smell this is your place.

Great location. Easy walking to oldtown area. Bus and tram right outside. Huge shopping mall with grocery store next door as well.
