Great staff in this old hotel. Many nice amenities including the rooftop pool and daily wine/cheese in the veranda. Connected to a beach resort if you want to go there. Rooms adequate size, relatively recently renovated, and (for ours) with great views over old San Juan to harbor.

Ezxcellent breakfast team especially Jesus and a lady (forgot the name). The 3rd floor terrasse is a must.

We mentioned several times that the magnifying mirror lamp in the bathroom did not work and none was done to fix it. The dinner menu could be improved. Not much choice. Same for the wine list.

The location is fantastic to walk and explore old San Juan. We also enjoyed exploring the history of the hotel. We appreciated the areas to sit and enjoy the courtyard and other outdoor areas open to guests.

We received a breakfast coupon for a room with two guests but oddly the breakfast coupon only covered one breakfast. That wasn't clear on the coupon or explained by the staff and didn't align with our expectation that the breakfast coupon for a room with two guests would cover both guests.
