Crowne Plaza Harrogate by IHG

Location good. Outside unwelcoming. Lone visitor wouldn’t feel safe. Hard to find actual car park which was very tight & busy. Need more signage on the road! £15 per night. Reception staff friendly & held our luggage until our return. Bar looked nice. Room (super-king) average & bit dated. A:c worked well. Not enough choice in pillows all hard! Dirty tea/coffee tray crumbs clearly visible. Drawer even worse. Insufficient milk, coffee, tea bags etc had to replenish ourselves. All can be rectified by reception but shouldn’t have to keep visiting there. Slept well. Breakfast buffet style. Cold cappuccinos etc. If you request anything out of the ordinary like porridge prepare to wait 3/4 hour & chase it up often! Due to that delay we were bit after 11 returning to our room to get luggage & were locked out! Another reception visit. Didn’t ruin our stay but could have been better hotel experience if all above were addressed. Harrogate is hyped up I’m afraid. Nothing much there to keep you interested. Prefer York.

Reception staff great. Catered for allergies in restaurant. Although when arriving for breakfast, the question wasn't asked whether we had any. Room was super, clean and comfortable.
