Village Hotel Cardiff

Lovely hotel, swimming pool, facilities, lovely room

There is no aircon is the rooms, that's fine as not advertised as having it, my mistake but it was the hottest May week ever, fans were supplied but ours hardly worked. Couldn't swap it. Can't open the windows more that 2 inches as security tags on them. Extremely small bed. Pulled out the sofa bed and used them as 2 singles. No hangers in the room. No shower gel in the pump. Grotty towels. Someone had left a condom (unused, thank god!) just on the floor by desk. How housekeeping missed that I don't know. Cobwebs from top of wall lights to ceilings and above the window. Room wasn't made up on day one as we had not realised you have to put the 'please clean room' on the door by 11pm the night before??? Even though we asked housekeeping as we left for some hangers and shower gel.... Day 2 one key stopped working, had it replaced. Day 3 both keys stopped working, was asked if they had been near a phone...no. Replaced and still not working.... found a maintenance man who said the battery has gone as no lights on door entry area.... reception could have asked that question.... also because of that the room was not made up again! Had to ask for it to be done at the end of the day. Used the pool which was the nicest part of our visit. Took our grandson who has lessons there and he loved it. Unfortunately the family changing area is very small and not the cleanest. Having been in the ladies changing rooms previously, they are much better. The towels in the health suite area are much nicer then the room towels! The staff in the health suite, lifeguard, bar staff - all very nice. Shame that this hotel did not feel clean and is quite shabby. Free parking, very good. Starbucks in the morning, very good. Such a shame as very close to where my daughter lives, but won't be going back.

Was a lovely stay only criticism was that the room was cold as heated did not work.

Duży rodzinny pokój, wygodne łóżka. Basen i strefa spa. Dobre śniadania. Dobra restauracja w hotelu. Parking.

W tygodniu śniadania serwowane tylko do godziny 9. Bedac na wakacjach z dziećmi chcialoby sie miec troche wiecej czasu na zjedzenie bez pośpiechu. Niestety nie doczytalam rezerwujac pokoje ze hotel nie ma klimatyzacji w pokojach. Akurat jak bylismy bylo codziennie 30 stopni i mimo ze mielismy wiatrak w pokoju to nie dalo sie spac.

The Club rooms in Village Cardiff are large,modern and full of natural light.As good as the hotel rooms,cusine and facilites are they come a poor second to the atmosphere ,friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. In my view the attitude of reception in the first 5 minutes can make or break a weekend away. Donna on reception embodies all of the above attributes,I have known Donna for many years and she is such an asset to the Village hotel brand.Donna always greets you with a friendly smile and is like a breath of fresh air.Donna has helped me out on a few ocassions and if I ever need advice or a room at short notice Donna will endeavor to help.First class customer service that many could learn from.

Very clean and accessible. Lovely vibe. Staff were fabulous. We spoke to a lovely Scottish lady - didn’t get her name but she provided excellent customer service Thank you above and beyond

Clean and spacious room and bathroom. Nice bar and Starbucks. Super friendly staff.

The fan! Super hot day and evening and the fan barely worked and windows have safety catches which is understandable but did make it hard to get air in. In hindsight we would have asked for another fan but we were very late arriving.
