Santiburi Koh Samui

Lovely hotel and location. The beach house is slightly elevated from the main beach, with wonderful panoramic views across the ocean. We dined there on twice. The first occasion we decided to try the wood fired Pizza as a change from the Thai food which is our preference. The pizza was in fact very disappointing - the dough base was chewy and rather rubbery and tasteless. Sadly we were unable to eat it all. We are not people to complain and make a fuss, so said nothing at the time, but mentioned it to FB gentleman next day who was surprised and would look into the matter but we never heard any more about it. Not our best choice that evening Thai food at the beach house is amazing - our lunch on arrival day and on another evening was superb And thank you Chef U-tid.

A beautiful, well structured hotel with super, private villas throughout the resort. We booked a Grand Deluxe Pool Villa and, really, the accommodation was fantastic. So private, so clean, absolutely amazing housekeeping services. Exceptional laundry service. A positive aspect of the Santiburi is the very real presence of senior management and their positive interaction with both guests and staff. The beach is beautiful but only gets the sun until early afternoon. The pool is large, gets the sun all day but we preferred to return to the villa as the pool area got sun all day. We played golf twice, and would have loved to play more but had bad weather for a few days. On a critical note, I was surprised that the special rate I was offered as a guest was actually the same rate offered to all golfers directly by the golf club. I do think there should be further discount for guests. However, the course setting is just stunning and we really enjoyed it. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Amazing

We had a lovely stay at Santiburi with our two teenage sons. The staff were kind, helpful and professional. We loved the pool, beach amenities and all the “activities” on site. The breakfast buffet (included) had everything we could want and more. Our room was very comfortable —one loft king room and a connecting 2 double for our sons. Only disappointment was how isolated we were as there were only two (very expensive) restaurants on site in the evenings (a thai restaurant and a beachside steak and seafood restaurant) and not much in walking distance. Both were delicious but had my kids been younger, they would not have been good fits for kids. Something the resort might want to consider if they want to be a family resort. We did hire the hotel shuttle (400 thb roundtrip) to take us to Fisherman’s Village one night for dinner and shopping.

The rooms are all located in individual villas so peace and quiet are guaranteed. The villas are very spacious and well equipped , with outdoor seating as well. All of which resulted in a very relaxing holiday. The pool area could have benefitted from a few more parasols and there were adequate numbers of sunbeds on the beach. We were surprised at the number of food options presented at the hotel. Given that it cost Baht 800 for a return trip to Fisherman's Village we were surprised that the hotel didn't make more of their beachside restaurant. Having separate lunch and dinner menus seemed a bit OTT when the staff were happy to accept orders for all items at dinner. The breakfast options were excellent, but why this restaurant was closed for for lunch and dinner was puzzling. One particular concern I had was being approached by a (?) member of the management team when I was walking back from the pool to our villa one lunchtime. He didn't introduce himself but launched into an 'instruction' regarding his views on my safety, presumably because I wasn't wearing a t-shirt?? If he had taken the polite option to introduce himself then I would have explained that I had been travelling regularly to Thailand since 1970 and was very well aware of the weather conditions. Additionally I would have advised him that my wife and I were married in Bangkok in 2005 and were celebrating our 20th anniversary where we took our honeymoon, on Koh Samui!

A beautiful resort which is immaculate in every way. The villa was an amazing space with privacy and tranquility for a very relaxing break. The beachfront was excellent and the food at all the restaurants was very good - the breakfast choice was amazing. We had two massages in the Spa and these were also great!! This is the perfect resort if looking for a peaceful and indulgent rest - I hope I get back there soon!!

Seit dem Verkauf der Anlage, hat man das Gefühl, dass mit dem "Santiburi Koh Samui" nur noch möglichst viel Geld generiert werden muss, bis die Anlage einem Neubau weichen wird. Meiner Meinung nach, hat das Resort auch zu wenig Personal. Die Hotelklassierung entspricht maximal dem Standard von 4 Sternen. Ich werde dieses Resort nicht mehr besuchen und kann es auch nicht weiterempfehlen. Eigentlich schade, es war einmal eine Topadresse!

We had a most luxurious vacation at your resort. The staff and accommodations were excellent. My favorite part was the beautiful secluded beach. I also loved the authentic style of the building, especially the hotel entrance/lobby/lounge, and the way the property was spread out. My only critique was the cheap flooring in the villa which was noisy and slippery to walk on. I also think it would be a lovely idea to have a shuttle to go wander into town at the fisherman's village rather than having to take a taxi each time.
