Baía I by An Island Apart

The location was great for us as we were running the half marathon. Great restaurants close by too. The view was lovely and overall the facilities were ok - very clean kitchen facilities.

A few things let it down. The jacuzzi wasn’t working - although the owners did give us a small refund to reflect this. The coffee machine was missing the milk frother. The roller shutter in One of the bedrooms didn’t work. There was also a smell of drains in one of the bathrooms.

Location and view. Clean, beds comfortable.

Lack of hand towels.

Two building sites right next to the apartment, the noise starts before 8am. Impossible to sleep🙁 No coffee machine.

This apartment is absolutely fantastic. Firstly, the view straight out to the ocean, is simply amazing. It’s a large apartment, all bedrooms are a great size with storage in each one. The modern kitchen is a breeze to use. This apartment is one of a kind and one that I will be booking for my next visit to Madeira. You cannot go wrong here!

Unfortunately through no fault of the host, there was construction happening on a block adjacent to the building which did cause day noise. Parking was a tight squeeze in the basement. You need to ensure you get your angles right. It didn’t help that two cars continually parked in a no parking area of the basement which dramatically reduced the turning space making it even harder. Obviously this is no fault of the host.

The location: nearby the see, plenty restaurants around, on the monumental avenue. The sea view: except from the bedrooms, you have sea views from everywhere : kitchen, lounge, balcony, terrasse, "external" kitchen. Full south: meaning sun from sunrise to sunset. The internal distribution. The flat is well organized. The appartment is clean and modern.

A little mess up at the arrival. Our guest didn't give the access key to swimming pool. It arrived more than 24 hours later. Even if the flat has been well refurbished, the building is an old one. We couln't make the coffee machine working and some kitchen articles are missing: only 2 wine glasses.

The space was great for 5 adults, situated in Lido there was plenty of opportunity to eat and drink in the area or use the self-catering facilities in the apartment. The hot tub was an added bonus especially at sunset. Great location for all guided tours and walking distance to Funchal Harbour.

The keylock was a little difficult to use and some electronic gadgets needed maintenance, but overall it didn't spoil our holiday. There needs to be more cooking utensils for self-catering purposes.

Very clean, amazing views and facilities, ample space and close to everything. Fantastic overall!

Could have some more cooking utensils to make cooking at home a little more possible!
