The proximity to the downtown core and wharf was perfect. The staff was friendly and having a suite with a kitchen was convenient.

The property needs a major refresh (carpets and furniture are dated). The gym was tiny and only had weights up to 20lbs.

Charming. Good amenities. Great helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Perfect location. Breakfast not included, but cute place to eat attached to motel.

$24/ per day parking detracts from the value. Bathroom was a bit small and dated, but works well.

We've stayed at the Royal Scot before and really enjoyed it. Blackball ferries offers some great packages, which usually work. This time, get to the hotel, no one at the front desk. Wait and a young lady shows up. We try to check in, but no reservation. There is one for a month and a bit in the future under the same name, but nothing when we get there. Given the Royal Scot and Blackball are working together you'd think the desk lady would get with them and sort it out. No, she insists we call. I ask can we just check in at the same rate? Nope, rate is $450 per night. So, we call Blackball. They have our reservation, no problem. They call and e-mail the Royal Scot, desk lady finally gets us sorted. But then insists it's our responsibility to call BlackBall and get the other reservation cancelled. My wife makes it clear it is not our problem, and the desk lady, in a snit, finally says she will call them. Room is great, but wifi is pretty much non-existent. On third day of our stay, room keys quit working. I go to front desk and request to talk to a manager. I point out that the ladies who clean the rooms are very helpful, and perhaps they could send the desk ladies to clean rooms for a while and learnn how to help customers. Which does not go over well with the "Desk" manager. But she does explain that the wifi is totally dependent on how many folks are using it. So don't expect great wifi. The Royal Scott was a great hotel. I'd say it is time they remind themselves that their customers deserve good service. For now, I'd not stay here if I were you.
