very friendly staff, very clean and nice room - except the fact that the bathroom had not been cleaned before my arrival (which certainly must have been by mistake???!!!) - anything else was very good.
Nettes Hotel, sehr kleine Zimmer mit winzigem Bad, allerdings sauber, recht günstig und akzeptabeles Frühstück.
Das Zimmer war sauber und klein. Alles notwendige war vorhanden. Der Bahnhof ist sehr nah und die Züge und Durchsagen gut zu hören. Die Zimmer klimatisiert. Den Preis für das Frühstück empfand ich als etwas hoch. Hier würde ich wohl beim nächsten mal in ein Kaffee in der Umgebung ausweichen.
Das Hotel hat am Wochenende ausreichend Parkplätze (10€/Tag), es gibt eine kleine Bar und einen Gastrobereich für das Frühstück (11€/Tag pro Person). Zum Zimmer kommt man nur mit einem Aufzug an dem man seinen Zimmerausweis vorhalten muss, was sehr gut ist. Das Zimmer selber ist recht klein, aber zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Bett war ein 140x200er. Sauberkeit war ok, es ist nichts negatives aufgefallen. Das Bad ist im Miniaturformart, wer nicht so gelenkig ist sollte dort nicht rein. Die Matratzen sind extrem weich, nach kurzer Zeit stellten sich Rückenschmerzen ein. Auf Nachfrage Rezeption wurde nur ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, Matratzen werden nicht getauscht.

Handy for station and city. Reception not very friendly and struggled to find our booking. Room was clean and had air con. Seemed small though even by ibis standards and larger people would struggle with bathroom. Bed very comfy. If sitting on the mini sofa in room beware as you could easily hit your back on window ledge. Remote control for tv didn't work, suspect batteries flat and with ibis 15 minute promise they would probably have fixed if we asked.
Wer mehr erwartet, muss mehr ausgeben. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is merely a five minute walk from the Central Station in Essen, and no more than ten minutes walking have you to all the restaurants and shops you need. We visited the Essen Messe, which is easily reached by tram. We drove our own vehicle, and were able to park curbside outside the hotel as long as we departed before parking enforcement started in the morning. The rooms are VERY small at this hotel. The have what you need, but know that you are in for a surprise if you ordered two single beds. You will get two beds, but there is simply not enough space in the room to separate them. Its all there; toilet, showes, TV etc, but in a smaller space than you may expect. This must be the best utilization of expensive business district property I have ever seen! Staff were helpful, efficient and very friendly.
