The location, easy walk to city centre. The staff, the facilities.

I loved everything about the property.

The staff in the hotel were amazing, the food was delicious. However, the facilities for people with mobility issues are extremely poor. We booked a disabled room in February for a June event - we were told that we would have a disabled room with a double bed, no twin disabled rooms. On arrival, we were allocated a normal twin room, not a disabled room as they did not have any available despite our booking, we were given a toilet seat raiser on request. Neither the allocated room, nor the disabled rooms had accessible showers, just showers over the bath, the disabled rooms had grab rails over the bath. A wheelchair user could not have a shower for the duration of their stay. We were informed that there were no walk in showers because it was an old building! If you can get in a bath, then this hotel is brilliant.

Convenient location close to centre, very quiet and very clean. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. They all gave great service. The breakfast was very good and gave a varied choice.

Duvets were a little warm for time of year but this was a minor issue.

Car parking can be an issue

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is in an excellent location for sight seeing, everywhere is within walking distance. All the general areas of the hotel were clean and looked well maintained. It’s a very nice hotel. One of the lifts was out of order during our stay so the one working lift was quite busy. The room was big with plenty of space for 3. The air con was great especially as it 30 degrees when we visited. There was a fridge in the room which was very handy, nice teas and hot chocolate. There was shower gel etc in the bathroom. The only downside to the room was the pull out bed, the mattress was paper thin and so uncomfortable. It was not ideal for a 15 year old. This could really do with being upgraded (room 114) The wifi was excellent. We didn’t have breakfast but it looked really nice. There’s a nice terrace off of the restaurant where we had drinks in the evening. The bar prices were pretty standard. The pool and jacuzzi were amazing, it was quiet and a great addition to our stay. The changing rooms were really clean. Chester is a lovely place to visit. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely book here again.

It was lovely to receive a reservation notice on arrival in the car park in our car parking space as we needed a blue badge space as my partner had mobility problems and has a blue badge. The breakfast was lovely and you felt I was in a proper hotel at breakfast rather than a chain. The room was very nice with comfy bed.

Swimming pool was too crowded, perhaps have slots people can book into.
