Centrally located, can walk everywhere. Parking next door.theoretically has all one may need…including gym and pool…theoretically = it is there but it is all tired, decadent, in need of a total refit

Tired and in need of a refit. They put new large screen flat screen TVs and new soaps / shampoos…but that is lipstick on a pig. First it should be striped and rebuilt…with good quality material not syntactic carpets and furniture that generates HVOC and permanent chemicals gases from formaldehyde used in MDF or carpet glues. Staff is nice very nice, but somehow they selected staff not suited to a 4 star crown plaza hotel…it could ge staff you find on a low end roll on roll off ferry, not even a cruise ship, just to make an analogy: one guy has tatoos everywhere, speaks with a strong low class accent, one girl has the shirt bursting so tight it was steering the visible underwear. It is no joke: nice staff in terms of being kind abd trying their best but high end hotel school and presentation training is missing.

We ordered room service and it arrived cold and inedible. I rang room service to complain and spoke to a rather rude member of staff who didn’t apologise and to who I requested replacement food. He said the member of staff delivering the food would apologise!! We waited 40 minutes after which I rang room service again and was told the kitchen had closed and they would not be bringing any food. No phone call to tell us which was unacceptable. Awful customer service so not at all happy

Location was ideal.

Old fashioned rooms, poor soundproofing. Charge for staying in hotel car park was more than if I had just stayed in the car park next door and was excessive. Hotel needs a complete refurbishment, outside and in.

Very good location

parking was very expensive and one of the bedside lights was broken. We reported this but it was not fixed during our stay which was disappointing.

Hotel is close to the main shopping area and the Cathedral. Nice, comfortable bar.

Our room appeared to be clean, but the desk lamp had at least a fortnight’s worth of dust on the shade. Also, the grab rail on the bath was loose and seemed to be unsafe. The shower gel in the bathroom was empty. I didn’t bother mentioning this to staff as I had some with me, but to be completely empty it must not have been checked for several days. The bar had no non-alcoholic drinks other than basic soft drinks.

The swimming pool & spa facilities are excellent.
