Exceptionally friendly welcome. Conveniently located near motorway (we were driving from London to Scotland). Room a little tired but comfortable. We’d stay again.

"Extra Mile"

Members of staff were so polite. One man went above and beyond at breakfast. We had to leave before 6:30 but he ensured we got pastries and takeaway coffee. He easily could have said no (we were early) but spent a good five minutes sorting us out. Wish I'd caught his name!

Very friendly &helpful staff, particularly Olivier and Stephen. Made us feel welcome. Excellent accommodation, good food reasonably priced. Pleasant grounds, easy access to A12, quiet.

"Nice stay , let down by leisure facilities ."

Very welcoming at reception , informative and friendly. Bedroom clean and tidy - freshly painted judging by the smell - still a whiff of paint in the air.... but better than other smells i guess! Disappointed to be given a twin room , but didnt have the energy to go and query/ change to the booked double room. Comfy beds and good - working- air con! Food in restaurant tasty and reasonable price . Breakfast was a very nice , fresh and piping hot full english and plentiful continental options. Main disappointment was that the leisure facilities were not available at all - would be worth having updated information regarding this on hotels.com.

Service from staff made up for the shortfalls . The building is very dated but there are small steps being made to modernise. I normally stay in premier inns I find them cheaper and overhaul better facilities.but if you are the area and it’s just for a couple of nights you will be fine . The service from most staff was exceptional

Good location if needing to rest whilst travelling up/down A1, and easy to find. Room was clean, with sofa, TV, etc. Bed was very comfortable & cooked breakfast was excellent :-)
