Bedford Swan Hotel and Thermal Spa

The coffee at breakfast was appalling. Having stayed here many times before this doesn’t change. It is the one single way that the hotel could improve to be all round excellent. It is such a small issue I am surprised that they still use an awful machine based coffee offering at breakfast.

Very central location, good for walks down the river and close to nearby food and bars

Room was average with a shower that didn’t have any cold water, elevator was rickety and out of order one of the days and the breakfast was not worth having. Overall tired feel to the hotel

Generator noise all night, room 103 carpet had stains all over, bedding stank of body odour, window and curtains like a cell. No bedside light on one side. Breakfast very poor - cold eggs, congealed cold undercooked bacon, no fried eggs, black pudding inedible, coffee horrid taste - premier inn better, breakfast staff disinterested and didn’t clear tables

The property has a gym now which is a big tick from me.

The room was a little too hot. The a/c couldn’t cope with the exceptionally hot temps in the uk.

Being next to the river. We loved sitting outside at The Pen and Cob. Great vibe.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Swan and have enjoyed our stay both times. The only small disappointment was that our room was overlooking the bin area both times. We did mention this the first time we stayed but were allocated a similar room the second time.

Location is very good

The back rooms are too crowded and claustrophobic

Stayed overnight for one night for the Soul Factory Sunday event. The hotel is exceptional and facilities clean and second to none. We had a ground floor Executive room in the Courtyard area which looked like it had recently been refurbished. The whole hotel and all rooms are beautiful. Unfortunately the buffet Breakfast far from being a hot one was exceptionally cold from the sausages scrabled eggs bacon and hash browns. It didnt help as the plates were not warm which you even get in a Premier Inn. Overall would definitely stay again but not for Breakfast.

Was really looking forward to the spa facilities, but learnt that they had to be booked in advance , and given the small size of the facility it was already booked for the weekend that we were the red apart from 8am Sunday morning. Would have been good to know this upfront.
