The entrance, elevator, and hallway carpets were very dirty. Glass also needs a cleaning. Very outdated furnishings.

It was close to the event we went to. Staff was nice

The cleanliness. There was literal dried blood spatter on the bathroom walls, stains on the chairs in the room, carpet was damp, and overall just not a good room.

There was not much to like.

For starters, the parking lot is in shambles. There are no painted lines determining the parking spaces. I understand the building is old, but it is not appealing from the outside whatsoever. The lobby was maybe the only decent thing about our stay. However, the windows in the lobby were absolutely disgusting. Covered in bugs, palm prints and dirt from years of not being cleaned. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Which was surprising. The elevators decided when to work and when to not. Which led to us often having to take the stairs. The elevator has space to comfortably fit two people at most. The smell in the building, hallways and our room was almost unbearable. Thankfully we had many bottles of perfume to help us get through the night. Paint was chipped off the corners of the walls, carpet in our room was not properly stapled to the floor leaving wrinkles all over the flooring. Our bed and bedding stank like they were not washed. There was white residue all over our bedding and the furniture in the room. The washroom was dirty. There were bugs living in the corners of our room.

we stayed one night and the room was terrible, both the door to the hall and the one to the balcony were stuck tight . The balcony had no chairs and was covered in pigeon feces. there was a complete lack of general maintenance. when we arrived there was no staff at the front desk.

The room could have been better prepared for guests. The bed was missing pillowcases and was not well made, though I had brought my own linens, which helped. During the night, the radio alarm unexpectedly went off at 1:00 AM, which was disruptive. The mini-fridge also froze the food I had stored, which was inconvenient. The room's door was difficult to open from the outside, even after it showed as unlocked—I had to use quite a bit of force to get in. The continental breakfast was very basic and didn’t meet my expectations for a downtown Smiths Falls location. On a positive note, the reception area feels modern and welcoming, but beyond that, the property could benefit from some updates to match that first impression. Suggestion: A quick check of rooms before guest arrival, ensuring alarms are reset, doors function smoothly, and breakfast offerings are refreshed would greatly improve the overall experience.
