Everything was generally great. Food was excellent rooms were very good with excellent products.

The reception staff could have been a bit more informative around all the things that are available to guests.

It doesn't get better than Bernardus and we've been there many times. Carmel Valley is beautiful with easy access to the town of Carmel. The setting and the property are spectacular; the rooms are well decorated, comfortable and very clean; The restaurant, Lucia, is fabulous and the hotel staff is so friendly and accommodating. My husband lost his wallet, they found it and we had it the next day. It's a favorite destination for us!

Perfect place to be pampered on a Girls Getaway or for a Couples recharge. The grounds at the resort are lovely and the staff and amenities will leave you feeling pampered & refreshed during your stay.

The whole property is just astonishing and looks like being in southern France

Bernardus is our Go To place in the Carmel / Monterey area. The grounds are beautiful, the rose gardens are not to be missed. Staff are all friendly and receptive. Overall the facilities are top notch and Bernardus never feels crowded. Very peaceful and serene and dog friendly as well.

It’s truly a spectacular property - you really don’t have to leave although the surrounding area is beautiful. The staff were great. Only advice I’d give is if it’s possible book a villa or room that is upstairs as if you’re on the ground floor it can be quite noisy from persons staying above you. Otherwise the rooms are great and well appointed.

Everyone who we met who worked there was TOP STAR!!!! Warm, Professional and made us feel sooo welcome!! Mohammed was awesome!! The food was delicious!! The Room Service was top notch ! Friendly and very timely and efficient. The Bed was soo cosy we felt as if we were sleeping on a cloud!

Great experience, staff & unbelievable room! Bernardus Lodge & Spa has created an experience that is serene, luxurious and stylish.

Came here for business and ended up extending my stay with my wife and kid. On the positives the property is really spectacular. There’s a bocce and croquet field surrounded by stunning gardens. There a spa with a steam and sauna room as well as a well kept set of tennis courts. Everything together gives the place a really luxurious feel. Unfortunately the service is not what you would expect for the price you pay. When we arrived, we had to bug the staff a few times to check if our room was ready, even though they said they would send a text and this was after a couple of other families who arrived after us good their rooms. The power also went out during our stay, but I suppose I’ll chalk that up to a one time thing. The restaurant on site (Lucia) is has delicious food, but very very slow service. We waiting probably 20 min before the manager finally swung around to take our order, and we found ourselves frequently having to flag staff down for things throughout the night. All and all, not a bad option, but I would have expected more elevated service for this price points. I would also say this plays skews toward an older (and less diverse) crowd and isn’t the more family friendly.
