"Beautiful hotel with lovely staff in York"

The hotel has friendly staff. It has a great view of the racecourse, a lovely back garden and lovely breakfast. Chef Chris is amazingly great. He looked after my son during each breakfast because my son haps multiple food allergies. We are especially grateful to him.

It was a really warm week when we went and on the first night we were sweating because the room is so warm. We struggled to sleep even with windows open so the next day we've asked for a fan and gladly the following nights were cooler.

"Nice hotel, great staff, good facilities... and very clean."

The double bed family room was great. Nice of the staff to offer an upgrade as the room on the south side were extremely hot on the day we were visiting.

It's a very hot hotel on a hot day, and even with two fans, it felt insufficient. Food was good (a little overpriced in my opinion), but overall it was a good experience. Also, I found the hotel a little far from the city center but there are buses you can take.

"Comfy and pleasant but pool area poor"

Beds are very comfortable, good shower facilities, water fountain near gym ideal

Pool area is small and not enough space with local gym users to swim. Steam room poor not hot enough/little steam setting may need adjusting

"We enjoyed the visit and york was excellent"

We did not have breakfast £28 ×3 is not a good price for breakfast

We were a party of 14 to16 and being to sit around in the bar was useful
