"Don't pass this one by. Outstanding."

10.0

This is a great property. And we have stayed at many others. Staff is very friendly. Food is very good everywhere. Very clean. The entertainment is great. Rooms are well appointed. There is a loud side of property. We were on the quiet side and glad of it. Casino is small and kind of dark. Didn't spend much time there. Spa was fantastic. Beautiful beach. We booked Elite and very much enjoyed the amenities. We will return.

"My lucky spot in paradise!"

10.0

I absolutely loved the decor and the vibe of this casino. It’s very beautiful. I had the luckiest night ever, hitting a Jackpot on a slot machine and having a great run at the sicbo game. If you're staying at the resort, you have to spend an evening here. You might be the next big winner!

"Beautiful stay"

10.0

Where to start 🥲 this vacation was THE BEST. We have been on around 40 all inclusive and this one was outstanding. For some reason we got it VERY cheap, like $1100 each from Ottawa ON. Seems like it’s around $5000 each now. I have no idea why we got it so low. Travelled with my husband and 2 sisters. The resort was nearly empty. It was so peaceful and quiet. The beach is stunning. The food was like eating at a restaurant at home, everything was delicious and hot, not like usual all inclusive food. We tried to extend by a week while we were there we didn’t want to go home. The beach was stunning! Pure soft sand and blue water. Not a single complaint from us about this stay! We’ve tried to book again multiple times but it’s been 4-5X as expensive as before haha. The drinks are delicious (we had alcohol free cocktails) coffee is delicious , the rooms were amazing. We had an ocean view suit and my sisters across the hall. Eveueybinf was fantastic . You will not be disappointed by this resort.

"Could Be Better"

6.0

We stayed here in March as a couple for ten nights. Overall while there is much to like about RIU Palace Macao there are areas for improvement. We found check-in very straightforward, though doing this in advance through the RIU app helps. The app also provides useful information about the resort including restaurant menus and amenities. With the check-in comes a welcome drink and a brief tour of the place by way of a map. The rooms are nice, though as many others have commented we did find the smell musty on arrival. We found that switching off the air-con, opening the patio doors and just having the fan running helped. It’s also a lottery as to whether you’ll get a king bed or two doubles. We ended up with double beds. Great for larger groups, not so much for couples. Rooms are well equipped. There’s branded optics with a mix of spirits, a fridge stocked daily with beers, water and soft drinks, then also a safe, iron and a coffee maker. No kettle though or tea in the room if that’s your thing. The hotel has been recently refurbished and the grounds, rooms and facilities feel very new. Worth mentioning that the resort is huge, with four interconnecting hotels that you can move between. Only the evening meals are limited to your chosen resort. The shared facilities include RIU Party, Pascha nightclub, a gym and spa, tennis courts, a water park, and a casino, all within walking distance. The beach then runs across the front of the resorts with lots of spaces for beds available. There are three pools, a large freshwater pool, a smaller saltwater pool and a pool with a swim up bar. We found the large pool to be quite peaceful but the pool with the bar to be crowded and rowdy most days. Something for everyone though. Some reviews have commented on difficulties finding beds. We didn’t have any issues but the resort didn’t appear to be at capacity. Definitely an issue with parasols however, just nowhere near enough. There is pool service available which is very good but we found the drinks to be lacking. Cocktails were mostly just sweet syrup in crushed ice and spirits were hit and miss. This didn’t really change much in the evening for us. Food didn’t always impress either. In the evening there is a themed buffet each night which runs on a seven day rotation. Options are limited with most of the food duplicated on either side. There’s very little in the way of food stations and each day felt very much the same. There are four restaurants and then a fifth for the Elite Club. Wait times for the restaurants were no more than thirty minutes and we tried all four. Kabuki (Asian), Volare (Italian) and Pancho (steak) all good but not great. Krystal (fusion) was disappointing with really poor service throughout. On the upside, the three bars are close to the restaurants so easy enough to get a drink before and after. Breakfast and lunch are also served at the buffet. It offers a similar variety to that in the evening but works better at these times. Pepe’s serves lunch by the pool but we found this to be mostly cold burgers and hotdogs. We tried this a couple of times before giving up and eating in the buffet instead. The entertainment team run various events during the day, from fitness to bar games. For the more party minded, RIU Party host themed events twice a day. In the evening, there is a stage with a nightly act, and also bars either side, one sports themed bar and a Cuban styled bar. The evening vibe is good and there’s a place to suit most tastes. For general amenities, the Wi-Fi is good and works just about everywhere. Towels are free through cards that can be exchanged by the pool. There’s a coffee shop next to the buffet, this is quite good and serves some of the desserts from the buffet. For Elite Club members, there’s an exclusive bar, restaurant and private beach. You can also make restaurant reservations with this perk as well. We didn’t upgrade so can’t say whether it’s worth it. Overall, it could be more good than average but the food and drink do let it down. There are issues with the rooms and it’s possibly just luck as to whether you'll experience any. On the upside, the place is spotless, the people who work here are fantastic and it’s as peaceful or as rowdy as you’d like it to be. I think it comes down to what you’re after. For us it was okay but there is better out there.

"Exceptional Stay at RIU Palace Macao"

10.0

Exceptional Stay at RIU Palace Macao. The Staff Made It Unforgettable We just returned from an amazing vacation at RIU Palace Macao, and it was truly one of the best resort experiences we’ve had. The first thing we noticed was the cleanliness of the entire resort. Our room was spotless, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and every restaurant and common area was kept extremely clean. Our room and view were incredible, and the food throughout the resort was fantastic. There were so many great options, and everything we tried was delicious. However, what really made our stay special was the staff. They went above and beyond every single day to make us feel welcome. From remembering our drinks and favorite foods to greeting us with smiles and high-fives, they truly made us feel like we were at home rather than just guests at a resort. We would especially like to recognize some outstanding staff members who made our trip unforgettable: • Jhon Kely – Coral Bar • Juan – Coral Bar • Another amazing gentleman at the Coral Bar whose name we unfortunately missed — he was heading for a day off, so we forgot to ask his name • David – Buffet Restaurant David served us multiple times at the buffet and provided excellent service every time. He was attentive, friendly, and made every meal enjoyable. The team at the Coral Bar was phenomenal as well. They remembered our drinks, welcomed us like friends, and created such a fun atmosphere every day. Honestly, every single staff member we encountered was incredible, and they all deserve recognition for the amazing work they do. If you are thinking about visiting Punta Cana, we would highly recommend RIU Palace Macao. The resort is beautiful, the food is great, and the staff truly make the experience unforgettable. We will absolutely be returning! 🌴

"Generally good with a few issues"

8.0

This was the third time i have visited the hotel, the last being ten years ago. I knew there had been a large refurb so I gave it anther visit. I was interested in the Elite Club, as it was my honeymoon, but although I was given the prices of the varius upgrades before arrival I was told that you could not book in advance. So when I got there I enquired to be told there was no availability. and that it was very expensive?? Perhaps i wasn't dressed appropriately?? A further enquiry for upgrade was made two days after and again no availability. During the stay though it was obvious that clients were moving into the Elite Club accomadation. I suggested to the management that these upgrades were saved for their USA friends but this was disputed. I disagree. The elite club is very expensive and the extra facilities only involve a seperate lounge and dining area, and another segrated area in the buffet for breakfast . Booking for meals at the A La Carte restaurants is allowed ( but not generally required to ordinary clients). So serious consideration should be given as the costs range for approx $100 to $300 per night ..phew. saved my money obviously The pools are nice but the maintenance is pretty poor. Tiles missing and some put on poorly and covered in scale. During the stay the main pool was drained to allow work to be undertaken. The quality of the work was poor. Pools are cleaned daily and the staff do a great job. Its the managenet of the hotel that are at fault. Painting going on during the day in the toilets and the swim-up bar etc. Food. The buffet was one of the best I have been to. The Fish selection was outstanding . The A La Carte restaurants are like ALL all-inclusive hotels. They try to be better but never make qiite make it. So the Italian, Steak House and Krystal restaurants were visted only once. The Asian was better and visited twice. Pepy's offer lunchtime fast food around the pools so at about 1000/1030 hours everyday plumes of smoke covered a large area of the hotel grounds. These areas we avoided obviously. Swimming pools. One large and one small with cabanas and covered areas in places . There are also approx 250m loungers but, unfortunaly, only 12 parosols. After enquirying for extra parasols I was told that all the rest were in maintenance??? Again bad management I had issues with the room which took ages to get rectified. On one occasion the shower could not be turned off and the room was covered in steam. I won't document the other issues but trying to relax at times was difficult. In conclusion, I had a good 14 nights but there were issues that could be easly improved with a little TLC and good management. Mangemet staff were walking around all the time, no idea exactly what they were doing. The staff were very friendly and did their best all the time. Would I return? Not at present

"Nice & relaxing resort (Adult only)"

10.0

We visited the Riu Palace Macao complex (adults only) for two weeks (starting end of February, 2026). This resort was completely renovated in the summer of 2023. Our room was located on the 3rd floor. We had two beds which we found comfortable. There is a fan above the beds which we appreciated. The air conditioning worked very well. The curtains of the patio door are opaque. On our balcony there were two adjustable chairs, a small table and a dryer rack affixed to the wall. The balconies all have a cement wall (approx. 6.5 feet) that give you privacy with your neighbors. Our room service was excellent. We had our small refrigerator stocked daily with water, beers and a variety of soft drinks. There are also 4 bottles of alcoholic drinks with a serving size dispenser (Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey). In the bathroom there are two sinks and a large walk-in shower (shower massage removable & head or rain forest). In the wardrobe you have several hangers (22) and a free digital box. Also, there are two dressing gowns, ironing board and iron (no umbrella). The Wi-fi is free and worked very well. There is a very good & there is a large variety of food that we found famous at all the places (buffet and La Carte restaurants). For A La Carte restaurants no need to book in advance, if it is full, they give you a *puck* (and a estimated wait time) that lights up and vibrates when your table is available. For a little extra after your meal or during the day/evening, there is the Cappuccino which serves a good variety of coffees, herbal teas, sandwiches and pastries style desserts.... The service at the bars was very good. There are waiters who walk the beach to serve you drinks. The 3 pools were clean as well as the bathrooms. For the beach, it is beautiful and there are sun loungers, no need to reserve. There are no palapas but many palm trees that give you shade if you wish. About 150 feet from the ocean, you have an interlock sidewalk that runs from the Riu Palace Bavaro to the Riu Palace Punta Cana (covering all 4 Riu Resorts (including Bambu/Macao). The location of the Riu Palace Macao is ideal for beach walkers, you can walk East or West for very long distances. The new gym & Spa faces the lobby of the hotel. Everything is very nice and new. Most guests are from the United States, Europe and Canada. This hotel is quiet and there is no loud music at night. The average age of visitors is 55+. All the hotel staff is friendly, smiling and helpful from your arrival to your departure. My wife and I will be returning to this resort as our 16th stay was again excellent & relaxing!

"A beautiful hotel and location."

8.0

A beautiful clean hotel with lovely grounds.First room did not have the view we paid for so moved into a fantastic room the next day with an amazing balcony. Restaurants are all great mostly open air but under cover including the buffet which looks onto the lovely gardens. The breakfast is huge and varied. The staff in all areas are fab. Pools are nice but the swim up pool is mobbed all day and not for us.The beach is in front of the hotel and is stunning. The entertainment is a bit dire except for the Michael Jackson show which was brilliant.A lot of people were dancing but a few were a bit drunk which is typical of all inclusive.A lot of very loud Americans including a crowd of middle aged woman in the Asian restaurant who stuck the chopsticks up their noses pretending to be walrus and chasing the waiters.Totally ruined the ambience. You can use the other TUI hotels during the day but not for dinner. Not many shops about.Very big waves for swimming and you can parasail, canoe etc weather permitting. We read so many reviews about this hotel having damp rooms etc.We never saw anything like this. Overall we enjoyed this hotel and location. We loved the hotel and stunning location.
