Novotel Lombok Resort and Villas

One of the best resorts Staff wise that we stayed in whilst spending a month in Lombok - the Novetel staff were incredible- from the managers at the reception & the receptionists - to the restaurant head staff , the transport guys and the cleaning team - we enjoyed these people and their kind spirit tremendously- thank you all at Novetel for making it all soo pleasant- we will be back for sure -

If we can give some honest feedback - my daughter and I are both in the cheffing and foody world - the menu was a challenge every day of the week - it was not diverse enough - an idea - in Senggigi- at the Puri Mas Resort - their restaurant had 4 menus from different countries - we had the best foody - eating experience there of all our resorts we stayed at - just an idea for the restaurant side to look into - they had an Indonesia Menu- an Indian menu- an International menu & a light snacks menu - & separate drinks menu -

The hotel is quite far from the lombok jetty where the boats from Bali land. And the hotel is relatively secluded from the tourist rush. But it opens right onto the beach with the restaurant on the beach. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is good and has an excellent breakfast spread. It also has reasonably priced lunch and dinner. We were there only for one night and enjoyed it thoroughly . Morning we walked down the beach and it was really picturesque. For those into surfing many surfers were surfing here ( we have no clue on surfing though so this is from looking at surfers only).

Staff were exceptional , location was superb, older resort but cleanliness and overall ground maintenance was excellent. Beach was clean and facilities eg sunlounges and daybeds were plentiful.

Beautiful prototype, quiet, peaceful, with full range of amenities. 7 min motorbike ride to centre of Kuta. 40 min ride to Selong Belanak. House car for rides into town at night and they hooked us up with scooters too. Very comprehensive buffet breakfast. Clean well managed facilities. If you want hustle and energy, stay in Kuta. If you want peace and quiet, stay here.

Novotel Lombok is, at first impression, a very beautiful resort that successfully captures the spirit of Lombok through its local architectural touches and relaxed tropical atmosphere. The property has a distinctive character that makes it feel more authentic than a standard chain resort. Although the resort is no longer new, it is generally well maintained and still offers an appealing setting for a beach getaway. That said, the upkeep is somewhat inconsistent. Certain areas were clean and presentable, while others felt less attended to. In particular, some spots in the pool showed visible moss, which slightly detracted from the otherwise pleasant resort ambiance. The room itself was one of the stronger aspects of the stay. It was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated. This made a noticeable difference, as it felt fresh, clean, and well cared for. Service, however, was a mixed experience. Some staff members were genuinely warm, professional, and attentive, especially in the dining area, where service was noticeably stronger. Unfortunately, this standard was not consistent across the resort. Housekeeping, for example, was uneven during the stay. On some days the room was cleaned properly, while on other days basic amenities such as tea bags were not replenished. Even after calling twice to request a refill, nothing arrived, and I ultimately had to go to the reception desk in person to resolve it. Situations like this made the overall service feel less reliable than expected. Breakfast was another area where the experience felt inconsistent. During a five-day stay, breakfast was served à la carte for three days and buffet-style for two days. The difference between the two formats was significant, and frankly disappointing. I was informed that when occupancy is low, breakfast is served à la carte, and when there are more guests, the buffet is provided. While this may make operational sense for the hotel, from a guest perspective it creates a noticeably unequal experience. Guests should feel that the standard of hospitality remains strong regardless of occupancy levels especially on the Accor chain hotel. Overall, Novotel Lombok has many attractive qualities: a lovely setting, spacious rooms, and a charming local identity. However, the resort would benefit greatly from improving the consistency of its service and maintenance standards. My impression is that guests are likely to have a better experience during peak season, when facilities and service seem to operate at a fuller standard. This is a resort with strong potential, but greater consistency would make the experience far more satisfying.
