Red Lion Hotel Monterey

Facility is dated. Mostly because of age, but everything worked and was clean. The Location seems to be good; access to town and attractions is easy.

The whole facility has not been maintained properly, which is sad.

There was pet fleas on the beds, window didn't have a lock

The pictures definitely make the property look a little nicer than what it looks like in person. My first impression wasn’t great when the girl working behind the counter seemed a little more interested in her phone. She also didn’t seem like she worked there. She was dressed very casual and other than her being behind the counter, you really wouldn’t know. No greeting or friendliness. We got our 2 keys, gave a card for incidentals and was told to walk up 3 stars, go straight and that’s where our room was. In our room, we found a missing towel bar, which was located in the closet. The barn door for the bathroom was not done correctly so it wouldn’t close and open without force. The bed comforter was a little dirty. It all gave me a little bit of the ick but we stayed. It didn’t feel dirty, just a bit shabby. The price we paid was great so I guess you get what you pay for.

bathroom durty lots of hairs. toilet nasty floors moved bed a bid and it was disgusting you need to move beds to lkean under.

2 towells . no soap on rhe bittles

Have stayed at this location multiple times over last several decades, close to family and all local attractions

Experience was not as expected. Homeless hanging out daily around property, no linens for fold out bed, heated pool?
