Well where do I start, stayed as a family got charged £100 per night and the pictures of the rooms when booking looked lovely but when opening the door to our room it was stepping back to the 70s a cheap looking brown carpet with paint splashes in the corner, the window looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the 70s old brown furniture, no air con but a fan with property of West Cliff Hotel marked on it, the hairdryer was in a drawer with the flex put through a hole in the back so it could not be removed from the drawer. No wardrobe apart from a cupboard with an ironing board and the heater inside.. the hotel states it has toiletries which it does but the small tube of shower gel and shampoo all smelt the same, when having a shower, the bath filled up with water and didn’t drain. I could’ve had a bath without putting a plug-in.. I should’ve left the hotel but I paid for two nights to stay so I would’ve lost my money. The worst room I have ever stayed in.

Rang hotel as we had not received a booking confirmation. We were told by the lady on the phone they had no reservation for us. The lady phoned us back again and said she had checked ever hotel and we definitely didn't have a reservation. Only to find out later they changed us anyway

The room was bright and airy and had a great view of the sea. The area was very quiet, and there were many wild flowers and birds across the street from the hotel. It has nice outdoor seating areas too just relax and enjoy the sea views.

I would have liked more choices for breakfast.

On my first night, the people in the room above me were very noisy. I raised this with reception, at around 1230 am, and straight away they were able to offer me an alternative room. So the problem was resolved.

Location

The fans were poor quality..it was so hot..couldn't open windows no AC Remote control screwed into table which suggests unwelcome guests Receptionist was looking unhappy and not polite. You would have thought..visitors travel from far and it'd be nice to be welcomed politely. Restaurant staff was really miserable apart from a young lady with red hair she was friendly. Breakfast was so basic. Hardly any variety. Location was good ...thats the only positive.

Good location

On the hottest day of the year standing in reception with no air conditioning not even a fan. Very rude woman on reception, you shouldn’t be doing this sort of job if you can’t deal with people. No air conditioning in room, tiniest fan I have ever seen in the cupboard, this fan wouldn’t even blow out a match. This hotel is in a prime location, the garden out the front overlooks the sea and is very nice but it needs a good clean and tidy, cigarette butts everywhere, even people’s dental flosses, furniture broken and paint peeling, such a shame because this place could be beautiful.
