Vila Gale Estoril Hotel

BEWARE OF HOTEL GALE chain hotels. My husband and I came to Cascais to celebrate my birthday and instead of having a good time I experienced the worst time at Hotel Gale. The small parking lot is open and is right front of the hotel entrance. When we came back from dinner to the hotel and just before entering, a man came from behind me and attacked me to the ground and pulled my crossbody purse off me. We went to the front desk and I was advised at the front desk that the hotel had insurance to assist guests who are robbed. However after months of waiting for the hotel's insurance company, ZurichPortugal , to contact me I was informed that they would not honor my claim for the theft at their hotel because it was in the parking. This is called Insurance Bad Faith. I would advise anyone coming to Cascais not to stay at this hotel as you have no protection. There is no security guard . There are no cameras and it is clearly not a safe place to stay. The hotel itself could have given some sort of compensation since their Zurich insurance would not. I hope nobody has to experience what I have experienced at Hotel Gale. STAY SAFE AND AVOID HOTEL. GALE chain hotels.

My stay was comfortable and friendly. The pizzeria, bar, and breakfast were all lovely but the highlight for me were the services at the Satsanga Wellness Spa just downstairs! The Turkish bath, hydro pool and massage by Eldho were HEAVENLY!!

Really a shame to write such a poor review about a hotel where the staff and service were wonderful. The reason for the poor review is down to basics of there being no ironing facilities at the hotel but only being available on a 24 hrs service. Not very appropriate in this day and age and a simple fix!! The other reason being the refuse collections at 1 am in the morning where the refuse collectors seemed to be playing skittles with the large refuse bins. This happened three times during my stay of one week at the hotel and not conducive for follow up business meetings the next day!!! The staff and food was wonderful.

We stayed here for 9 nights in Oct. The staff were very courteous and helpful in anything we asked of them. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding any amount of food from freshly baked bread , eggs being cooked in front of you to your taste. All you had to do was ask if something was missing. The best compliment I can give is that we will be booking again.

I really enjoyed the Villa Galé Estoril. It is well located and close to everything you would need within the area. I felt very safe when walking at night. It is quiet area with many restaurants options. I love the themed rooms. It takes you back in time. The pool area is lovely. I did not use the pool on this trip. The breakfast was delicious and the staff friendly. Check in and out was quick without any issues. I would stay here again or at any other locations. I highly recommend it.

This is not exactly a cheap hotel, so I did expect better for the price. The room decor looks like something from Wayne Newton era Las Vegas, but worse is the condition: the beds are too firm, with cheap-feeling spring mattresses; the shower wall was not big enough to prevent water from getting all over the bathroom, and it had a leaky seal making an even bigger puddle; the walls have chipped paint and the ceiling has shoddy repairs done. Outside of the room, the public areas are better... the breakfast is good, and pool is nice, but quite cold, and for some reason the employees keot leaving the bar/cafe area unattended, so it was hard to actually place an order for anything. The main reasons we booked this were to have close access to the beach and train station, and it served those purposes well. We also appreciated that it was adults only, with no kids running around and making noise! That made the pool a much more enjoyable experience. But for the price ($200/night), we really expected the room to be better

Although the fittings of the room is a little bit outdated, it was still offering comfortable stay. The buffet breakfast was wonderful in terms of quality and variety. The staff (especially “Ruben”) in the restaurant were also excellent expressing warm concern to us when our last day my wife couldn’t come to have the breakfast.
