ibis Saarbruecken City

Our stay started very badly. Upon arrival I was told we didn’t have a booking and the types of rooms I had requested were not available. I was abruptly told to wait while other guests were checked in. The receptionist became more helpful when I produced the email confirming our reservation and when he read the email I’d sent an hour earlier to advise our arrival time. The reservation was made via email because I needed to check the availability of one family room (for 2 adults and 2 kids) and a twin room with separate beds for another 2 adults. When the confirmation email came from the hotel I assumed everything was organised. Not so. I must credit the receptionist (I think his name is Arthur) for rectifying the situation. He provided 2 single rooms and 2 double rooms to accommodate us all. He also honoured the original rate I was quoted- for which I’m very grateful. Once the checkin was complete we had a very comfortable stay. The rooms on the 5th floor were all small but immaculately clean and quiet. Heaters were efficient and air conditioning is available for summer. Beds are comfortable and we all had brand new bathrooms. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Everything was replenishing quickly. If it wasn’t for the stressful checkin I would have given 5 stars for this hotel. It represents great value but there’s some disorganisation behind the scenes that should be addressed.

Hôtel Ibis impeccable. Dans un quartier business tranquille. Matelas un peu dur. Couettes à l'allemande, c'est à dire très étroites. Ca surprend quand on est français. Personnellement, je n'aime pas trop.

Great hotel for a weekend in the city. Stayed to use a base for a visit to the area so just needed a room and somewhere to sleep. This hotel was a great surprise. Room's were clean, tidy and well looked after. Team were attentive. Everything needed for a quick stay. Room had a safe. No additional cost. City centre was about 10 minutes walk.

Very handy for a one night stay . Good Mexican restaurant next door . Easy to walk into town where there are various restaurants . Clean with a powerful shower . We stayed on a Sunday and the parking was free outside the hotel til 8 am next morning. All in all good value for money .

The situation of the hotel was perfect. The breakfast was outstanding. Though the remote controll for the air conditioner was nowhere to be found. A whole night of noise and chills without end. Worst night ever.

Good location close to the centre 10 min walk

Good hotel for transit and visiting the region (or shopping). In town, you have no visit for more than 2 hours (walking). Good to make a stop on the way to or from Belgium or the Netherlands (or north of France if you do not want to pay the highway).

Sehr gut zu erreichen und ziemlich Mitte in der Stadt. Alles gut zur Fuß zu erreichen.
